Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Collection: review & swatches

Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Collection: review & swatches

As soon as I saw the Nudegasm palette, I wanted it. I love a nude lip, so basically this collection was made for me! I already had the Super Nudes eyeshadow palette, so I just skipped the dual ended liner (which I'm still tempted to get) and two of the nude lipsticks. The idea is that there is a nude lipstick for everyone, but I still bought three and I like all three on me. They can be altered, depending on if you want to wear a lip pencil under them, so you don't really need to buy more than one, but I find it hard to resist a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick! So, is this range worth the hype.....

Nudegasm palette: This is much more versatile than it looks, because it can be used on both the eyes and cheeks, to create both day and night looks. As it's a nude palette, the look is going to be natural, overall, however it can also be used to create a glam look, using nude tones. It contains four powders: Super Glow, which is a soft champagne highlight, Multi Glow, which is a peachy-gold blush, Soft Sculpt, which is a light, matte bronzer, and Super Sculpt, which is a rich, deep, contour shade. Of course, the shades are interchangeable and you can swirl your brush around a few to achieve the look you want. The are all pretty pigmented, but a light hand will achieve a natural look, whereas they can be built and layered to achieve an evening look. I can see myself reaching for this non-stop over the coming months, and beyond. The texture of the powders is smooth and easy to blend, without looking like you've been mud wrestling! All of the shades work so well with each other, so it really is the perfect palette for weekends away, or to take you from day to night. The packaging is pretty, but sturdy, so I have no concerns about it being in my handbag and with 3.8g of each powder, it should last quite a while. It's pricey, as all CT products are, but it's worth it, in my opinion.

Swatches are completely unedited. From top to bottom: Super Model, Cover Star and Cat Walking,

Super Model lipstick: I think that this was in the original line up of lipsticks, but I didn't actually pay any attention to it until I was looking at the other shades. It's a matte finish, deep rose shade, which won't be nude against all skin tones, however, it will work with for a lot of people as an everyday shade. Or, if like me, you prefer a true nude, this will work as a nod towards an Autumnal berry, but still err on the side of pink. As with all CT lipsticks, it is creamy and comfortable to wear, despite being a matte finish, and doesn't leave lips looking smaller when applied.

Cover Star lipstick: Another matte lipstick, this is a warm peachy-toned nude, which I think will only suit certain skin tones, due to it being so warm, but like I said earlier, you can change the shade with a deep liner, if it's too warm for you. Again, I'm a fan of this formula, because it isn't drying, however the trade off for that is that these mattes don't last as long as traditional matte formulas, but I'm fine with that, because I'd prefer to top up, than have parched lips, or lined lips. In fact, I find that this formula makes my lips look plump and juicy, which I love.

Catwalking lipstick: This is the truest nude in the collection - for some, it will be a concealer lips look and for others, it will be the perfect nude lip! It's definitely the most brown nude, however it's not a Faye from Love Island brown - it's paler than that. This is probably my favourite of the three that I own, but I also like it dabbed on the centre of my lips, over Cover Star, to create a fuller (slightly ombré) look.

Overall, I have to say that this is one of my favourite collections from CT in quite a while and I wish that the many influencers/bloggers who were sent the entire collection, would do it some justice and create some looks. That's something that annoys me when I see entire PR packages sent out on Instastories and they're never to be seen again - not even a swatch! What a waste!

Available from Charlotte Tilbury, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Brown Thomas, Space NK, Sephora and Arnotts.

Does this collection tempt you? Which lipstick is your favourite? I'd love to hear!
