Beauty products are expensive these days, so I expect the quality to match the high price tag. There are some products that I use regularly and love but there are issues with them and with so much competition on the market, I don't feel the need to stay loyal if there is a 'but' attached to a product. Maybe they will surprise you and I would love to hear what your 'I love you, but' products are in the comments below.
Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Wands: This will probably be quite a divisive one because I know that there are so many die hard fans of these out there. I love them too! I love the shade range, how they apply and blend, how well they wear etc but I just absolutely hate the packaging!
I've repurchased some shades a few times but I really feel that they time has come to break up with them. I'm not binning them but just won't repurchase. Firstly, excess product comes out when you twist the cap in order to dispense product onto the sponge-tip applicator, saturating it, which is messy and it's just wasteful as there's only so much product you can put on your face (without looking ridiculous!). I have used two of the contour wands far too quickly for this reason! Secondly, the entire cap has come off my Peachgasm Beauty Wand, so if I want to use the product inside, I will have to cut it open (again messy but in some ways less so!). I'll do it but I won't repurchase. There are so many similar products on the market now so I have options.
Kayali Capri In A Bottle: I had a set of mini vials of the Vacay In A Bottle fragrances, which I took on holiday recently. I used this particular scent at the beginning of the holiday and ADORED it! It's both sweet and citrusy with warm base notes - both fresh and comforting, with notes of sugar, lemon, freesia, raspberry, vanilla and musk. I could smell it for hours after first spraying and I thought that I should buy a full size bottle, which would always remind me of that particular holiday (something my husband & I love to do). I opened it and wore it as soon as it arrived a few days later and immediately was transported back to that holiday and the feeling that comes with summer sun. The problem is that the scent doesn't last at all! In fact, I'd go as far as to say that it's one of the worst performing fragrances that I have ever owned! I would need to spray it at least hourly to smell it. I've never bought a Kayali fragrance before so would love to hear if you've experienced something similar if you own one?
Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Shaper: I love my lips to look plump and have always used lip liners, loving the definition that they give. I generally really enjoy Too Faced products (although I have fewer products in my collection than back in the day when I bought pretty much all of their new releases!), I also don't mind a bit of a tingle with lip plumping products but this is too extreme, even for me! The name does says 'extreme' lip shaper though! This liner just feels so uncomfortable and like it's burning my lips - like taking the hottest chilli and rubbing it all around your lips! I just can't do it anymore so I'm giving up on this one!
Trinny London The Elevator: First things first, I adore this neck cream - I really do! So, what's the problem you might ask? I seem to use a 50ml tube every 6 weeks or thereabouts! That's crazy and very expensive! Am I using too much? I don't feel that I am but I must be because the only other product I use that quickly is body lotion and that's my whole body!! I use it from my jaw down to my boobs, twice daily. Previously I used serum and moisturiser in this area but still never used products so quickly. What am I doing wrong? I can't stop using it because I find it so effective but I'll need a lotto win at this stage to get up with the purchases!
Let me know your 'I love you, but' products! I's love to hear!
