If you've read my blog for any amount of time, you will know that I have dry skin. From a dry scalp to dry skin on my feet - we're talking the Sahara from head to toe! It can really be a battle at times, particularly during the colder months and ageing exasperates it too. I have probably tried hundreds of moisturisers over the years and today I am sharing my top three. I'd love to hear your recommendations if you also have dry skin!
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream: A classic for a reason! This is a brilliant, basic moisturiser if that doesn't sound too wrong! I say basic because it doesn't have crazy claims that it will reverse your looks by 10 years or similar - it's just a hard-working product that delivers no matter what your age. It contains three key ingredients, which replenish and strengthen the skin - squalane derived from olives, glacial glycoprotein and pro-ceramides. The skin barrier is strengthened, skin thirst is quenched and the skin feels soft, supple and elasticized. A little goes a long way and it can be used both day and night. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream: I will admit that I wasn't a fan of this when I first used it around 10 years ago. I didn't get the hype and didn't get the 'magic' - I still think that the name is ridiculous but that is the way with a lot of products from the brand and the % claims always cause an eye roll from me. That being said, I really do love this moisturiser for daytime use. I find that this soothes, plumps and hydrates my skin. The combination of aloe vera, camellia and rosehip oils, vitamins C&E, hyaluronic acid and peptides nourish the skin without making it greasy. A little does go a long way, so I recommend using less than you think you will need and then adding more if necessary. The texture is different to that of the other two moisturisers in this post and does require a little more effort in terms of massaging it in, however it is worth it for bright, plump skin. It's also the perfect base product for makeup.
I'd love to hear if you have a favourite moisturiser that you buy on repeat or do you tend to try whatever is new when you need to repurchase?
