Here we are at the end of another month! I'd like to say that this year is flying by already but I actually find that it's dragging and I think it's because of the awful weather! I could probably count on one hand the number of days that we've had without rain this year here in Ireland! Anyway enough weather yap, let's get into the beauty products that I have been loving over the past month (and I would love to hear what you've been loving too!)...
Skin Rocks The Amplifier: I'll admit that I used to think that essences were 'Princess products' and perhaps if your skin isn't dry, you would think so too but a good essence will do more than just hydrate the skin in the way that a mist would. SR The Amplifier is the perfect example of what an essence should do - it amplifies what your other skincare products will do, increasing their efficacy. It contains ingredients that will enhance the performance of Vitamin C, peptides, Vitamin A and hyaluronic Acid. I use two pumps and apply all over my face and neck (any excess goes onto my hands - waste not, want not!) after I cleanse and acid tone. I find that it instantly hydrates my skin but I also find that with consistent use, my skin is looking bright and bouncy regardless of which products I follow up with (I have a variety of serums on rotation). I know that I will repurchase when I finish it and think it's the perfect enhancement and addition to any skincare routine.
Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask: I had to see what all of the hype was about so I bought a 4 pack of these masks while there was a discount on ASOS. I was kind of over the whole sheet mask thing to be honest but I'm glad that I bought these and will buy more in the future when I finish this pack. I find that they make my skin look juicy and glowing and feel bouncy. They are saturated with hyaluronic acid and collagen, amongst other ingredients, and I find that they fit my face really well (unlike some sheet masks). I know that some people leave them on overnight but I personally don't because I know it wouldn't be on my face in the morning! I leave it on for a few hours until it turns transparent and the result is glass skin! Perfect for before an event or just as a pick me up!
Valentino Beauty Born In Roma Donna Purple*: I was kindly gifted this fragrance and love it so much that I have used around a third of it in a few weeks! This is, without doubt, my favourite of the Born In Roma fragrance line. It's a sparkling scent with fruity and floral notes of plum and osmanthus with a vanilla base. It lasts so well on the skin - a good 8/9 hours for me and I can still smell it on my clothes for longer than this. I love the signature Valentino studs on the bottle and the purple colour of the perfume. The only slight negative is that the bottle is heavy so I wouldn't pop it in my handbag but because of its longevity, I don't need to top it up so it wouldn't put me off using or repurchasing.
Patrick Ta Major Skin Soft Blur Brightening Concealer: I finished two concealers recently and thought I'd try this one given that I love the foundation so much. I love how lightweight and hydrating this is - perfect for the under eye area. It gives medium coverage yet looks natural on the skin. I also use it on areas of redness - not blemishes necessarily, but just general redness or uneven skin tone and it works really well because it has a blurring effect and it doesn't crease. I find that it lasts really well on my skin, which not all hydrating concealers do. It would be rare that I would wear makeup for more than 12 hours but this concealer is always in place when I go to remove my makeup. Overall, it's a winner!
Redken One United All-In-One Multi-Benefit Treatment: I needed a new detangling spray/leave in conditioner and decided to switch things up and buy this, which I previously used years ago. This has 25 benefits, not all of which I'll mention here but the main benefits that I wanted were help to detangle my hair, reduce frizz and heat protection. It also nourishes without weighing the hair down and it adds shine. I love the scent - like a soft rose/powdery scent. It's not overpowering but it enhances the experience of using it.
Sunless By Jimmy Coco Self Tan Soufflé: I'm generally loyal to Loving Tan Express Mousse but it's quite pricey so I repurchased this Jimmy Coco tan while it was on offer and I love it. It's tinted so I can see where I'm applying it to ensure a streak-free tan. It has a gorgeous golden colour - neither too orange nor olive. It lasts well on my skin but also fades evenly without having to be scrubbed - even on the ankles, wrists and elbows. An all round winner that often has 20% discounts available.
How has your February been? What have you been enjoying using? I'd love to hear!
