The mask that makes hair shine bright like a diamond: Alfaparf Illuminating Mask

The mask that makes hair shine bright like a diamond: Alfaparf Illuminating Mask review

I usually use Kérastase products on my hair (Olaplex and K18 sometimes feature too), but a couple of months ago when I was going on holiday, I bought a travel size Illuminating hair mask from Alfaparf and it won me over from first use so I went on to buy a full size when I got home. If you're looking for a glass-like shine on your hair, this will be right up your street!

Alfaparf is a brand that I was familiar with because the hair salon that I used to go to a few years ago used it but I hadn't actually purchased any products to use myself. I wish I had tried the products sooner because this mask is less than half the price of a Kérastase one and the result is honestly outstanding!

My hair is dry and frizzy. I used to describe it as damaged but since leaving balayage (and therefore, bleach) behind and focusing on repairing and strengthening my hair, it's in much better condition. Don't get me wrong - I still have it coloured and I use heat on it (usually only once weekly), but compared to a few years ago, it's generally in good nick. That being said, dry hair is naturally dull - add in the frizz and it's a mess if left to its own devices! I need to use great products to ensure that I get the shine that I like and the sleek finish that I love.

I rarely use a regular conditioner - my hair just prefers masks as they're more nourishing and intense, which is what my dry hair needs to be more manageable. I have fine hair but a lot of it so I like a mask that is nourishing but not heavy because I can't stand the feeling of product in my hair and also don't want it to look flat. Swishy and glossy is the dream!

This Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Diamond Illuminating Mask ticks every box for me. It has a rich texture, which nourishes the hair but it rinses easily and my hair doesn't feel weighed down by it. It leaves my hair feeling silky when rinsed, it's easy to comb through after using (I have knotty hair), it leaves my hair so shiny that the first time I used it, I thought that parts of my hair were still wet because it was so glossy (I now know it's just the diamond shine) and it smells amazing - think citrus with a hint of musk/wood, but it's not too overpowering. It leaves my hair feeling nourished and healthy, frizz is tamed and the shine is outstanding.

I honestly can't rave about this mask enough and definitely want to try the shampoo from the same line but I'm trying to finish some other shampoos before buying a new one.

If your hair is dull, I really recommend giving this mask a go!
