The best concealers for dry/mature skin

 

My days of using lots of concealer are long gone! I've always had dry skin so even back in the day when people raved about the Collection concealer and did big upside down V shapes with concealer on their under eyes, my skin couldn't play along with the trends. I've always had to use something hydrating and even more so as the years have gone on. It really is true that less is more the older you get but that being said, I really do need some coverage as I have dark circles and some areas of redness on my face. I don't typically go for full coverage because I'm not seeking perfection ( whatever that is!), instead I favour medium coverage with a natural finish. I have four great concealers that fit that bill to share with you today.

Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer: Okay, I know I said that I don't go for full coverage but this concealer is pretty full coverage but it doesn't look too fake or cakey. It actually has a natural matte finish and it blends into the skin beautifully, covering dark circles, blemishes, areas of pigmentation and redness without looking obvious. Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating Concealer: This concealer offers solid medium coverage with a very blurring finish. I particularly love to use this on blemishes or areas of redness as it covers them but in an undetectable way. A little goes a long way with this concealer as the texture feels quite heavy until blended out. Despite feeling quite heavy upon application, it doesn't dry the skin out at all. It also has great longevity so ideal for special occasions or nights out.

Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin Awakening Concealer: This concealer has great pigmentation and gives great coverage but the texture is creamy and easy to blend, feeling lightweight on the skin. The tiniest amount will cover dark circles and I love that it doesn't settle in fine lines yet also isn't so slippy that it disappears. Perfect for all areas of the face.

Patrick Ta Major Skin Soft Blur Brightening Concealer: Despite the slightly off-putting scent (strangely musty but it does dissipate), I really like this concealer. It has a thin formula but offers medium coverage and is easy to blend for a natural finish that doesn't settle into fine lines. I'm a huge fan of this brand in general, and think it works great for mature skin!
