Five favourites from Hourglass

Brand of The Month, cruelty free, Cult Beauty, Dim Infusion Review, Dim Light Review, Five Favourites, Hourglass, Luminous Bronze Light Review, No 28 Primer Serum Review, Veil Mineral Primer Review

Every month, Cult Beauty has a Brand Of The Month, which means that there is free worldwide delivery on all products from that brand. This month, it's Hourglass - a brand that I love so I wanted to share my five favourite products with you. It wasn't easy to narrow it down to just five, especially as some amazing new products were released recently but because they are so new, I couldn't legitimately call them favourites.... yet!! This post isn't sponsored - I just wanted to share because I think the free international shipping is a good deal!

No28 Primer Serum: If you have dry skin and have struggled to find a primer that adequately hydrates your skin without feeling too heavy then you need to try this product. The name is given to the 28 skin-nourishing ingredients it contains - a combination of essential oils, lipid-rich plant oils and vitamins. It has a silky texture that applies beautifully - it doesn't feel like there is a layer of product on the skin yet the skin is hydrated and plump. Even heavy or matte foundations apply well over this primer and don't make the skin look like it is masked or caked in product. I also find that foundation doesn't crease or break down in certain areas when I use this primer. It's expensive but worth it if you have very dry skin. Only a tiny amount is needed each time it's used so it would be worth buying the mini size to try first as it would last quite a while.

Veil Mineral Primer: Yes, another primer but I really do love this one too. This primer glides over pores and textured skin to provide a perfectly even canvas over which to apply foundation. It blurs pores, plumps fine lines and really does ensure that foundation stays in place. I find it brilliant on days when I know I will be wearing my makeup for 12 hours or more because it locks my base in place. I think it is suitable for all skin types, but especially those who want to minimize the appearance or pores or texture without the use of a silicone primer. Again, a travel size is available.

Dim Infusion Blush: I have quite a few of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes but Dim Infusion is my favourite. The blushes are marbled together with the Ambient Lighting Powders and no two are exactly the same. I find that this marbling gives the skin a very healthy and lit from within look. They are a dream to apply because they are so finely milled so there is no patchiness at all. This particular shade is my favourite because I find that coral blushes really suit my skin tone and colour but there are seven in total to choose from and they are also available in travel sizes.

Ambient Lighting Bronzer: Like the blushes, the bronzers are also marbled with the powders. I find this bronzer ideal for adding a wash of colour to my skin but it's unsuitable for contouring as it isn't matte. On really hot days, a quick brush of this over a primer and I'm good to go as it adds radiance and warmth without looking to un-natural. The only thing to remember is that it is pretty pigmented so a light hand is needed. I also love to wear it on my eyes. Again, travel sizes are available.

Ambient Lighting Powder: Because I have dry skin, I avoided powders for years as they generally cake on my skin and emphasize the dryness even more but these Hourglass powders are different. My favourite is Dim Light because it seems to blur my pores or any imperfections and it gives my base a more polished look without looking matte. I also really like Diffused Light as it's yellow-toned so it tones down any redness in the skin.

What is your favourite Hourglass product? If you have wanted to try some of the products for a while then now is the ideal time as even the travel sizes come with free international shipping until the end of August.
