The older I've gotten, the less I want to wear full on foundation. I don't particularly like the feeling of foundation on my skin but I do want some coverage and something to even out my skin tone. I'm drawn towards products that give me a 'my skin but better' look that are easy to apply and lightweight. I've been trying some new products over the past few months and have also repurchased an old love. Let me share them with you...
Victoria Beckham Beauty The Foundation Drops: I know that these drops are eye-wateringly expensive but they are really beautiful. The drops have the texture of a serum - super lightweight and very breathable - they really feel like you aren't wearing anything. Hydrating without feeling greasy, offering light but slightly buildable coverage with a radiant finish - these drops really are the business! I love the blurring effect they have on the skin and supposedly they will help improve skin in terms of radiance due to the skincare ingredients included but I'll be honest and tell you that unless I win the lottery, I won't be wearing these daily!
m.ph By Mary Phillips Le Skin Weightless Serum Foundation: Another product with the texture of a serum - weightless on the skin yet it manages to even skin tone and diminish the look of pores, adding light to medium coverage that still looks like skin - wizardry! The finish is natural, not overly dewy and not matte - it just looks like healthy skin.
Erborian CC Créme: The classic that I had been without for a while but repurchased because I missed having it in my stash. This cc cream offers light to medium coverage with a natural, blurred finish. It is initially white when pumped out but adjusts to skin tone when blended into the skin. I love how lightweight it is and the fact that it really does just look like my skin but better. SPF 30 is an added bonus.
Sculpted By Aimee Hydra Tint: This skin tint is super lightweight on the skin, it blends in seamlessly to perfect skin tone and add light coverage without feeling like there is anything on the skin. It adds some natural radiance - nothing overly dewy or glowy, just healthy looking skin. It is so easy to blend that you could do it with your eyes closed! Another hit from this fab brand!
Drunk Elephant Kamo Drops: This is different from the others in that it is designed to be mixed with moisturiser to add some light coverage - the more drops you add, the more coverage you will get or it can be used alone as a full coverage product. It claims to visibly firm skin over 12 hours but I haven't experienced this (I'm not sure how any realistically do that!) but that's not to say that this isn't a nice tinted product that feels lightweight and adds radiance.
Hung Vanngo Beauty Red Carpet Skin Luminous Longwear Serum Foundation: You'll have noticed a them here - most of the products have a serum like texture, which makes them super lightweight on the skin and because it is infused with hyaluronic acid, it is perfect for my dry skin. The coverage is a solid medium but still manages to look skin-like, just perfected and blurred skin! It doesn't cling to any dry patches and doesn't fade or go patchy. I wear this when I want more coverage than a skin tint but still want the serum texture and lightweight feel of a tint.
There's something for all budgets here. Let me know if there's a similar product that you'd recommend!
