Over the years I've gone through phases of using a separate moisturiser at night, mainly not being consistent because I hadn't found one to wow me enough to keep repurchasing. They had kind of gone off my radar, instead focusing on serums as part of my night-time routine. That all changed when the beauty therapist I go to for massages and the occasional facial, suggested that I try Ultraceuticals Ultra DNA Complex Recovery Night Cream. I've been with her for over three years and she knows my skin pretty well at this stage so I trust what she recommends. I've been using it since May, am approaching the end of the jar so will I repurchase?
Ultraceuticals is an Australian brand, which I was already familiar with because I love their SPF 50. It's a results driven brand that I would say is no fuss, no frills but the focus is on skin health and what improvements can be made with the products.
This night cream is described as being suitable for all skin types but due to its rich texture, I would say that it is more suitable to normal/dry/combination as I think it might be a little bit too rich for oily skin. The concerns that it targets are fine lines & wrinkles and dryness & dehydration.
It contains Dynamic Night Activator (hence the DNA in the name), which is a triple enzyme complex. It works with the skin's natural renewal cycle at night to replenish and nourish the skin. The texture is really rich so a little goes a long way. You really only need a pea-sized amount for the whole face and neck as it's very emollient. Instantly upon application, it's like my skin breathes a sigh of relief because it is so comforting and hydrating. My skin feels so soft to touch and supple. Sometimes with night creams, I find that the moisturised feeling has completely disappeared by morning, but not with this cream. In the morning, my skin still feels soft and bouncy.
I have found that with consistent use since May, my fine lines are less visible (only botox will make them disappear but reducing the appearance is enough for me, although I never say never to tweakments as I don't know how I'll feel in the future), my skin is supple and overall looks and feels more hydrated.
It's a pricey cream but given that I have been using it for five months, I'm willing to repurchase for the results it has given. My skin barrier is strong and I just love waking up to soft and supple skin! It's available from Millies and beauty salons around the world.
