Winter bodycare loves

Winter bodycare loves
Anything gifted to me, without obligation, will be marked with a *l

I wear body lotion every day because if I didn't, my skin would be so uncomfortable, itchy and scaly! I also apply fake tan weekly, which means that I have to exfoliate regularly. Even in winter, when my limbs are not on show, I like to take care of the skin on my body. Today, I want to share some of my current loves. If a product was kindly gifted to me, I will mark it with a * but I have also repurchased some of the products that were previously gifted.

Mio Liquid Yoga Bath Soak: All Mio products are currently on 3 for 2 on their site. I actually received this from the brand last last year and loved it so much that I had to repurchase it. This is the perfect product to use when you're feeling burnt out, exhausted (physically and mentally), have had a tough day, need a boost or are feeling achy after a workout. It contains a blend of cannabis seed oil, which is calming, almond oil, which is moisturising, and a blend of lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, mandarin and lemon oils, which are uplifting, amongst other oils, which help to de-stress the mind and body, but also to uplift the mind. I describe this as both a hug and a massage in a bottle, which is why I repurchased it and I think it would make a gorgeous gift for anybody who has a very busy life or is trying to get over an illness. I use this once or twice weekly, but the temptation is there to use it every night! I find that I sleep so well after using this bath soak. Everything about this product is recyclable.

Mio Clay Away Body Cleanser*: This was kindly sent to me by the brand before Christmas and I was very curious about it being a clay cleanser because I would have initially associated this with being a product that would work best with oily skin, rather than on my dry skin. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing to hit me was the fresh eucalyptus scent, which I love. The texture is that of a body wash, however, if you wanted, you could apply it all over the body and leave it on as a mask for a few minutes before hopping into the shower, to rinse it off. I'd imagine that this would be the perfect product to use after a sweaty workout, as it leaves the skin feeling so clean and fresh! It contains a trio of clays, eucalyptus oil, matcha tea extract, Indian fig extract and several other ingredients that make you feel invigorated after use. I also find that a little goes a long way with this product and it's ideal to use in the morning, to get your day off to a good start! Again, all of the packaging is recyclable.

Mio Solar Power Illuminating Sugar Body Scrub*: I love sugar scrubs, because they leave skin feeling very smooth and soft, without tearing the skin, as the sugar is mixed with oils. This one has the added bonus of leaving the skin with a hint of golden glow. The large tub contains a golden scrub (from golden caster sugar), which removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin looking brighter. It also leaves the skin feeling super soft as it contains a blend of myrtle, olive and andiroba oils. It has a citrus scent (which I personally love in my products), so it's invigorating. I like to use this to remove every last bit of fake tan, which it does without tearing or stripping my skin. Because it contains oils, I tend to use this the night before I will be re-applying my tan and I follow it with a body oil, to ensure that my skin is thoroughly nourished and supple - this means that my tan applies more evenly.

Ameliorate Smoothing Body Exfoliant: How many times have I raved about this body scrub on the blog? Before I was ever sent any products from this brand, I was already buying them, and this was probably the first one I tried. I tend to use this mainly on my arms and knees, if I'm running low, but every so often, I will use it all over my body. It is applied to dry skin and left for around 5-10 minutes, before rinsing in the shower. It's quite gritty, yet it doesn't strip the skin - the lactic acid works to dissolve the dead skin cells, to leave skin feeling super soft and smooth. It's brilliant if you have, what I call chicken skin, on your arms! You can save 20% by using the code SIOBHAN at the checkout on everything on the site

Caudalie Thé Des Vignes Nourishing Body Lotion: I love Caudalie products, but this scent in particular, is one of my favourites from the brand. It combines Neroli, Musk, Jasmine and Ginger, and like all Caudalie products, it contains Grape Seed, which is not only moisturising, but is also an anti-oxidant. It is so lightweight in texture, absorbs quickly and easily, yet it it's very nourishing, without being greasy. I also love that it has a pump! Mio Golden Hour Illuminating Body Moisturiser*: I can see myself using this moisturiser more in summer, when my skin is exposed, as it adds a hint of golden glow to the skin. It would be ideal across the collar bone or down the shin bones, to add some natural highlight. It doesn't give the appearance of fake tan, but does add some glow, so if you were feeling very pasty, but didn't want to fake tan, this would do the trick. It feels very moisturising and nourishing on the skin and has a beautiful citrus scent. It's an instant mood-lifter for me on these dull, winter days, but I know that I'll use it even more in summer. Again, the packaging is completely recyclable.

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion*:  This is the original version of the body lotion, which I have raved about several times on the blog, but there is a new version available, which is the Warm Amyris Scent - I don't have it yet but will share my thoughts with you when I do. This body lotion (especially when combined with the body exfoliant), keeps the skin on my arms super smooth and soft. Sometimes I use it all over my body, but if I'm running low, I concentrate on just my arms and knees, as they are the parts of my body that have the roughest skin if I don't use products on them. Some people say that they don't like the scent of this lotion, due to the lactic acid, however there is also an unscented version. Personally, it doesn't bother me, and they have limited edition scents around twice yearly. Again, don’t forget that you can save 20% by using the code SIOBHAN at the checkout on everything on the site

NSF (Neuro Skin Feeds) The Micro Milk for Body*: This is a brand that really excites me! I wrote about the facial oil in this post, and their second release is this Micro Milk. This body lotion has a very light texture, so there's no waiting around in the nip, freezing, while you wait for it to sink in, yet it's very nourishing and a little goes a long way. Plus, it has a pump, which I love! It contains aloe vera gel, which is extremely soothing, shea butter, which is very nourishing and anti-inflammatory, camelia sativa seed oil, which is a fantastic ingredient as it's an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, fatty acids and it also boosts the immune system - something we all need at the moment! It also contains cannabis seed oil, which is another anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant ingredient, which also nourished the skin. I am really enjoying using this lotion because I love when a product is lightweight, but also very nourishing. I have dry skin, but this has it feeling very soft and supple, without feeling at all greasy. An all round winner in my book!

Have you switched up your body products for winter? Have you tried any of the products mentioned? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
