A week in my skincare routine

A week in my skincare routine for dry skin
If a product was gifted to me, it will be marked with a *

As regular readers will know, I post about skincare very often and I sometimes get DMs asking how often I use the products or what a week in my routine looks like. To be honest, it varies, depending on how much energy I have, how inflamed my skin is, the time of the month, if I've used anything new that has irritated my skin, if I'm experiencing texture - you get the gist! It changes depending on so many factors so I just took one random week to show you what I've been using and I'll do it again occasionally in the future. I definitely am not one to show my skincare daily on Instagram, at least not at the moment when my energy levels are so low but I do enjoy seeing other people's routines so if you let me know if this is something that you do! The lighting varies in some of these photos are they were taken at different times of the day and night. I also want to say that I have an unnatural amount of skincare products and assume that non-bloggers have a regular routine with a few extras thrown in so please don't think that I'm recommending having this huge number of products! Also, I always wear SPF but I let my moisturiser absorb fully first, which is why it isn't in any of these posts. I also wanted to mention that I apply Eyelash serum, neck serum and lip balm daily as part of my routine but didn't always remember to photograph them! For reference, I have dry skin that has some texture and is also quite sensitive but is very used to acids at this stage. I am on a lot of medication at the moment and am very ill so some nights, it's as basic as you can get! At the end of the post, I have some discount codes that will help you to save some money if you are interested in buying any of the products.

A week in my skincare routine for dry skin

Day 1 AM: I recently raved about Ark products in this post so this morning I used the Conditioning Cleanser* to begin with and then I followed with Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, focusing on areas of congestion. To balance my skin, I followed with Ark Skin Essential Beauty Hydrating Mist*. Use the code LYMIN to save 20% on the Ark products on Look Fantastic. Next up is eyes and I use two products: Prai Eye Tight Uplift Serum, which really does tighten the skin on the under eye area, followed by Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum*, which hydrates, firms and brightens the under eye area. For serum, I use Prai Platinum Firm & Lift Serum, which really does tighten the skin, followed by Naya Everyday Protective Day Cream* (review here).

Day 1 PM: I fell asleep watching Too Hot To Handle on Netflix (what an awful show!), so quick and easy was the order of the day (night). I double cleansed with Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm (I've lost count of the number of times that I have bought this!), followed with a spray of Queen Of Hungary Mist*, then patted some Omoressence into my skin and while that did its thing, I brushed my teeth and then slathered on Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask* because this always guarantees me a good skin day the morning after use - clear, hydrated and with refined pores. My favourite skincare brand never lets me down! Save 5% by using the code PERFECT at the checkout until the end of May.

Day 2 AM: I started today as  I did yesterday with the Ark Conditioning Cleanser* and I followed with Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask (aka Spanx for the face), which I love to use when I feel like my skin is looking a little congested and also just to lift and firm my skin. I followed this with Ark Hydrating Beauty Mist and Omoressence before mixing a pump of Omorovicza Oxygen Booster with Hydrabio Moisturising Concentrate*, which I reviewed here. I finished with some Volition Celery Green Cream*, which I reviewed here.

Day 2 PM: This was a makeup (and SPF) free day as I was in so much pain and was in bed for most of the day so I just did one cleanse with Jordan Samuel Skin The After Show Cleanser for Sensitive Skin - I absolutely love this cleanser - it's full of nourishing oils that melt into the skin, yet it doesn't feel like there is a layer of residue or product on the skin that is difficult to rinse.  I then followed with some Shani Darden Texture Reform*, which I reviewed here. I love how it leaves my skin looking bright, feeling smooth and even but not irritated at all. After letting this settle, I follow with my usual combination of the Ark Hydrating Beauty Mist* and Omoressence before finishing with Antipodes Kiwi Seed Gold Luminous Eye Cream*, which feels so nourishing and plumping on the under eye area, and Volition Celery Green Cream* again.

Day 3 AM: Guess which cleanser I used today? What can I say,  I am just loving Ark at the moment! I decided to use a different mist today and went with Caudalie Grape Mist*, which is such an underrated product! This really hydrates the skin and is so affordable and I love the limited edition packaging of this bottle. I made a cocktail of Image Ageless Total Pure Hyaluronic Filler* (botox in a bottle), Omorovicxza Oxygen Booster and Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster and let that settle. I applied Prai Ageless Throat & Decolletage Serum (which I do morning and night but don't always remember to photograph), Prai Ageless Eye Tight Uplift Serum and Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum* before slathering, you've guessed it, Volition Celery Green Cream*! As always, I use Revitalash Advanced Serum - I just don't always remember to photograph it! If you have short or sparse lashes, I promise you that this is 100% worth the money!

Day 3 PM: I double cleansed, first with Pixi Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover* and then with Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm. I then kept it pretty simple with some Ark Beauty Hydrating Mist, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair (my most repurchased skincare product ever) and some Bee Yu Intensive Night Cream*, (review here) mixed with a few drops of Alpha-H Essential Hydration Concentrate.

Day 4 AM: I started with a cleanser that I should (and intend to) use more: Image the MAX Stem Cell Facial Cleanser*, then I went in with a Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Pad in Extra Strength (couldn't be without these!0. I then followed with Bali Body Hydrating Face Mist* and some Omoressence, patted into my skin. While allowing that to sink in, I used my usual eye duo of Prai Ageless Eye Tight Uplift Serum and Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum*  following with Ark Hydrating Serum* (review here) and finishing with Volition Celery Green Cream*!

Day 6 PM: I doubled cleansed with Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter and followed with Oskia Renaissance Mask to exfoliate my skin and add some radiance. When I removed that, I used Queen Of Hungary Mist and I forgot to photograph Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair, but I used that and followed with Omorovicza Reviving Eye Cream*. I then applied Prai Throat & Decolletage Serum and I finished by applying Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream and later, I layered Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask.

Day 7 AM: I started by cleansing with Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser with Rose (review here), then followed with some Omorovicza products: Queen of Hungary Mist, Reviving Eye Cream and Rose Lifting Serum*. Day 7 PM: The final night in this post! I doubled cleansed with Emma Hardie Morninga Cleansing Balm (I adore this cleansing balm! I know lots of bloggers were sent this to celebrate the anniversary of its release but I bought it myself - I put a * throughout this post beside everything that was gifted to me -  the rest I have bought myself). I then decided to use my Dr Dennis Gross Professional Grade Resurfacing Peel*, which is a miracle worker and basically gives me filtered skin (review here). I then misted with Queen Of Hungary Mist*, nourished with L'Occitane Overnight Reset Serum and Omorovicza Gold Night Drops*, used my usual Prai Throat Serum and finished with Drunk Elephant F-Balm, which I forgot to photograph!

This is just a random week, it changes regularly depending on if I am testing products, have particular issues or needs and on how much energy I have. It also changes seasonally. The aim is always to have smooth, glowing skin, which gets more difficult as you age!

If this is something you enjoyed and would like to see again, please let me know! I couldn't do a week in makeup at the moment as I only occasionally wear some but maybe at some time in the future I will do that or a week in bodycare as that changes, depending on the weather, tanning etc.

I have some discount codes in case you want to buy any of the products mentioned. Save 5% on Omorovoicza by using the code PERFECT at the checkout until the end of May. Save 20% on a big selection of products on Look Fantastic by using the code LYMIN - this is valid until the end of June but may drop to 15% soon. I have two Cult Beauty codes, which I found in a magazine - both offer 15% discount until the end of May (brand exclusions apply). They are CULTRLHU and CULT068K.

Do you use many (any) of these products? I'd love to hear!
