Olaplex No 0 Intensive Bond Building Kit - worth the hype?

Olaplex No 0 Intensive Bond Building Kit - worth the hype?

I mentioned in my Covid - six month update post, that my hair has been falling out (which I have seen/heard other people say has happened to them too), so I am trying everything I can to take care of my hair, slow the loss down and even (hopefully) reverse it. I've been using Olaplex No 3 for around 18 months now, and have seen great results in the structure/strength and elasticity of my hair, so when I have that they were releasing a No 0 Intensive Bond Building Kit, I ordered it immediately. It was released in the U.S. before here, so I actually ordered from Sephora so that I could get started with it as soon as possible.

The kit contains a 155ml bottle of No 0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment, which is housed in a bottle with a narrow opening to dispense - it's a very watery liquid and it needs to be applied to dry hair until it's saturated. A spray bottle would be more convenient but it's not totally inconvenient. After applying from root to tip, it is left for 10 minutes, before adding No 3 Hair Perfector (there's a mini included in the box), again saturating the hair and leaving for another 10 minutes.

No 0 acts as a primer and No 3 is the treatment that locks the primer in. Combined, they form an intensive treatment to strengthen and rebuild the fibres of the hair strands. The star ingredient is bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate - I'm no scientist but this is the ingredient that repairs the broken bonds in the hair, caused by heat, bleach, colour etc.

I have coloured my hair for years,  I only use heat on it once weekly but I've been ill for 20 years and hair is the last to benefit from nutrients, which I am lacking in. Combine that with Covid hair loss, I was very pleasantly surprised to notice the difference to my hair each time I have used this. Ok, it won't make my hair grow back, but it is strengthening, repairing and smoothing the hair that I have (even with having balayage done! My hairdresser even said that my hair is in great condition, so if I can just stop the loss, I'll be very happy).

If your hair isn't in bad condition, you don't necessarily need this in your life. However, if your hair is damaged, broken or frizzy, I would 100% recommend this kit to you. I will definitely be repurchasing when I finish this one. Each kit should probably last for 5/6 uses and I am personally using it every time I wash my hair at the moment but that isn't necessary - once weekly would probably be fine, but I'm just trying to get my hair into the best condition it can be, given my current circumstances. For me, this is totally worth the hype!

Have you tried this kit or are you going to? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
