Why you need a Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre in your life......

Why you need a Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre in your life

When Victoria Beckham Beauty first launched, I was a little overwhelmed and didn't know what to buy. the products are expensive, so I didn't want to make a (pricey) mistake! I now know that the quality explains the price tag and it's a brand that I gradually want to add more products from to my collection. If, like me, you often toy with the idea of buying something but are overwhelmed, I would suggest starting with the Lid Lustres

We've seen many pressed powder pigments over the years, some good and others not so good, but these Lid Lustres are in a league of their own. They are so very finely milled and creamy, which makes them easy to apply and they are particularly great on "mature" lids, which aren't as firm as they used to be. They contains Squalane, which means that rather than drying out the lid and highlighting any lines, they are actually flexible - bouncy almost, and they apply evenly (dry or wet - the latter to up the intensity) and give the lids a grown up, sparkly lid. Pearlescent pigments make up 60% of the ingredients, so you know that you'll get a glowing result but without the glittery effect, which is best left to younger lids. They are pigmented (but buildable), smooth in texture, and can be applied with your finger or a flat shader brush. They really are a foolproof way of elevating the eyes and making it look like you've made a lot of effort, but without doing so. There are 10 shades available - something for everyone, and I have three but am likely to add some more to my collection as they are my go-to shadows.

Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre Swatches
Swatches are completely unedited. From top to bottom: Honey, Velvet and Starlight.

I first bought Honey, because I thought that I can't go wrong with a bronze shade. Universally flattering, but I particularly love this shade on my green eyes. It's such a simple way to achieve a subtle smokey eye, with this and some eye liner, with some matte bronzer in the crease for depth.

During the Black Friday sales, there was a 20% discount, plus free international shipping, so I bought Starlight, which I had wanted for months, and Velvet, because I can't resist a green eye (I even wore one on our wedding day!). Starlight is a beautiful light gold shade that I love to wear when I have my face lightly (fake) tanned. Velvet is a sublime shade that suits my green eyes so well as there is a hint of gold in it.

As I've mentioned numerous times, I have the delightful combination of oily lids and watery eyes, however these lid lustres do but budge at all once applied (even without a primer). I love the subtle shimmer that they give my lids and the smooth finish.

I think that these are the best pressed powder shadows on the market, so if you're looking to dip your toe into Victoria Beckham Beauty, these are the way to go!

If you have tried other products from the brand that you think I'd love, please let me know as I have a feeling that this is the beginning of a new love affair!
