I finally got my hands on some Rare Beauty products!

Rare Beauty overview, Brand Focus Rare Beauty
None of these products were gifted to me.

There are so many celebrity skincare and makeup brands on the market and most of them don't interest me, however when I received some samples from Rare Beauty with a Sephora order last year, I knew that I wanted to try more. Once the brand launched on this side of the Atlantic, it sold out so quickly that it was virtually impossible to get your hands on any products, so I just put it out of my mind........ until a few weeks ago when I had a little splurge and I want to share my thoughts with you today!

Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer: I love when brands sell minis of products so you don't waste too much money if you don't love a product, plus they're perfect for travelling. This is a beautiful primer for adding some highlight to the skin but not in a glittery way - skin just looks more luminous and the texture is so beautiful that it absorbs easily. It doesn't pill over my skincare or under my base products and just gives my skin a healthy look. Love it and will purchase the full size at some point.

Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation: This foundation wowed me from first use! I love the texture - lightweight, yet the coverage is a solid medium with very little product. It has a doe foot applicator, which I also like and it blends like a dream. I've used my fingers, a brush and a beauty sponge and have found that a light stippling brush, or a beauty sponge work best (or a combination of both). My skin looks natural yet perfected and I don't need to use a lot of concealer with this (just in my under eye area). It doesn't settle into fine lines and just gives the skin an overall even look but doesn't look or feel like I'm wearing a lot of makeup.

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush: Adore: I just have a mini of this, but I switch up blushes so often that this will last quite a while. A lot of the blush shades are sold out (along with so many other products, but it's worth signing up to the waiting list), but I will buy a full size at some point. Again, this has a doe foot applicator and I just dab a few dots on and it blends in so easily - it really is a dreamy product to use. For those who are scared of liquid blushes, this is the one to start with!

Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer: Always Sunny Spring: It's no secret that I love creamy face products because my skin is so dry, but this is the best stick bronzer I have used! It looks scarily pigmented but then blends into the skin to look so natural - dreamy! I think I'll buy Happy Sol to use as a contour, but again, I couldn't recommend these products more if you're starting out with creamy face products. It's like makeup for dummies!

Silky Touch Highlighter: Exhilarate: These highlighters sell out so quickly, so if you want one, buy as soon as you see them! My goodness, the texture of these is amazing - feels like a cream even though it's a powder. It's so finely milled that it applies so smoothly, but don't be fooled into thinking that these are subtle - one little swipe and you're seen from outer space, so use a very light hand and a fan brush (unless that's the look you're going for!).

Always An Optiminist 4-in-1 Mist: Could this be the setting spray that beats them all? I think so! It can be used to prime the skin, between layers of makeup, or as a traditional setting spray. I currently have the flu (hence no posts last week) and I am sweating A LOT but I wanted to make myself feel better at the weekend and decided to wear makeup. I knew that if I wanted it to last, I'd need powder and a spray so I chose this one and when I'm telling you that my makeup didn't budge, I mean it! I was shocked when I looked in the mirror after around 8 hours (and my temperature was nearing 39 C) and my makeup looked as though it had been freshly applied! This will be perfect for any heatwave that might come our way, nights out and humid sunny evenings on holiday!

Overall, I can't get enough of this brand and definitely want to try more! I find that everything is reasonably priced and the quality is right up there with high end brands. I just need to get into a store to check out what stock is available!

Have you tried any Rare Beauty yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Available from Sephora and Space NK.
