June Favourites featuring Estee Lauder, Smashbox, Hourglass, Kat Von D and more!

So it's favourites time again! Can you believe we are halfway though the year?! Crazy! I have six favourites to share with you this month and I have been really loving every one of them! Some fragrance, skincare and make-up - I'll start with the fragrance. I am totally addicted to the beautiful scent of Bronze Goddess. I reviewed it back in April and I have hardly stopped wearing it since. It has the most beautiful coconutty/pina colada/sun cream scent and I am just addicted. Because of this, I decided to totally spoil myself by buying the matching body cream. This is a very indulgent treat, but I bought it when Debenhams had a sale on and I also had €10 in reward cards points it reduced the cost by €14.20 of R.R.P. It is a total Princess product and I am using it very sparingly, but I find that it makes the scent last longer and I love it!

Success at last with By Terry Ombre Blackstar!

By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock is a product that was on my wishlist for quite a while and when I initially tried it, I was so disappointed to find that it creased and slid on my eyelids really quickly. I posted about it here.  I asked for advice from other oily-lidded ladies and tried a lot of the tips given but it still wasn't working for me. Because it cost over €40, I wasn't going to be defeated quite so easily so kept searching for possible solutions and recently hit upon the perfect product to use with it.

Speedy reviews on recent purchases #2 featuring Caudalie, Kiehl's and Image Skincare

Another speedy reviews instalment today! I actually only have two products in the photo above because the third item is one I bought recently that really didn't agree with my skin and I have already passed it on to my mother. It was Image Vital C Hydrating Cleanser. The first time I used it, my skin didn't react at all but the second time, just after I applied it, my skin came out in red blotches and looked as thought it was sunburnt! I have sensitive skin, so I immediately stopped using it and gave it to my mother, who is enjoying using it and hasn't had any adverse reaction. result for her, but not so much for me!

Speedy reviews on recent purchases #1

I thought I'd do something a little different today! I normally do individual product reviews but sometimes there isn't any need for an in-depth review and because of that, some products that I buy don't ever get written about despite the fact that they are great. I thought I would remedy that by doing speedy reviews and today am starting with Sachajuan Intensive Repair Conditioner and L'Occitane Dry Skin Foot Cream

Would you rather tag!

I've seen this tag floating around and thought it seemed like a fun one to do, and tough for any beauty addict! So here are my answers:

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eye liners, lipsticks and glosses or lose all of your palette and eye shadows?

Now this is a toughie because I'm unsure if it means you just lose them and have to replace them or lose them & never be able to use them again. If it's the former, then the answer is mascara/glosses etc, but if it is the latter, then it has to be my beloved palettes because I would look very strange with just eyeshadow & no mascara or brow product!

REVIEW: Oskia Renaissance Mask

If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you will know that I am a face mask addict. I have tried so many different types from so many different brands and always have a few on the go. I really didn't need to buy another mask, but a few weeks ago I bought Oskia Renaissance Mask after reading so many positive reviews and I want to share my thoughts on it with you today.

Recent purchases #21 featuring Smashbox, Becca & more!

I'm back with another mini-haul to share with you all! One is a repurchase and the other four items are new to me. I'll start with the repurchase, which is a non-negotiable for me. It's Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (€83). This is a product that I hate to be without because it really keeps my skin in check - it helps with healing blemishes, repairing scarring, adding hydration and anti-ageing. This will be forever repurchased.

REVIEW: JANINA Ultra Whitening Toothpaste and Maxi White Whitening Strips 7 Day System

You might have seen in my recent empties post, that I finished a tube of Janina Ultra Whitening Toothpaste. It was sent to me for review purposes and I wanted to finish it before reviewing. This post isn't sponsored & as with every other review I post, I am going to be completely honest. I don't drink tea, coffee or red wine, or smoke, which are the usual teeth staining culprits, in fact I have never drunk any of these but my teeth still need help in the whitening department. I have tried various brands of whitening toothpastes before but never with great results and I have also tried Crest whitening strips, which I did get good results from but because I have sensitive teeth, they were painful!

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Vs PIXI Flawless Beauty Primer

Last year I bought PIXI Flawless Beauty Primer and reviewed it here. It is a product that really gives a glow to the skin and looks great on days where you don't want to wear a base but maybe your skin is looking a little flat or dull and also under foundation as a traditional primer. I found this brilliant last summer when I had a little colour in my cheeks but in winter, when I was at my palest, I didn't reach for it very often because of the peachy colour it has. Now that it is spring/summer time again, I have been using it again but I recently bought Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer and thought that, because they are quite similar products I would do a review of it and compare it to the Pixi product.

The Perfect Palette Tag Take Two!

I originally did The Perfect Palette Tag in October last year, but since then I have bought a good number of palettes so thought it was time to do an updated version. Being a total palette addict, this tag is perfect for me!

Question 1: Best Packaging:
The Marc Jacobs Lolita Palette is just so sleek and stunning! Everything about it screams luxe and it is quite sturdy too. Love it!

Question 2: Best Colour Payoff:
This has to go to Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita quad, the shadows are incredibly pigmented and a light hand is needed with them.

Two L'Occitane purchases

After falling in love with L'Occitane's Tonic Body Oil (€40) recently, I had to repurchase it. It is definitely a treat and more expensive than my normal body moisturisers, but because it is limited edition, I had to buy a second bottle. I will try to make this one last longer than my previous bottle because I flew through it! I have reviewed it here

Empties & speedy reviews #13 featuring L'Occitane, Clarins, Clinique & more!

My empties bag is full again so it's time to give you some speedy reviews of the products I've used up. I have a mixture of hair, face and body products with one random product in there too.

Hair:

I finished a large 1000ml tub of Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. I bought this last July for £35.33 when it was on offer on Beauty Bay and it was great value because it lasted for almost 11 months. I love this hair mask - it really helps my dry and damaged hair to look healthy. Review is here and I will definitely repurchase it. (Edited to add that I have found the mask on allbeauty.com, link here for €41.17 with free delivery if anybody is interested!)

REVIEW: Alpha H Liquid Gold

Alpha H Liquid Gold is one of those cult products that every beauty blogger was talking about a few years ago. Sometimes when a product is hyped up, I wonder if it can really be that great or are so many bloggers talking about it simply because they received it for free! Spoiler alert - this product is worth the hype!

A new haircare purchase: Sachajuan Intensive Repair Conditioner

My hair is quite dry and damaged from years of heat styling, colouring & illness and I am always on the lookout for a product that will help to add some serious moisture back into it and make it look less frizzy and more glossy. I normally use Kerastase products, but wanted to try something different so I bought Sachajuan Intensive Repair Conditioner.

Maybelline Colour Drama In With Coral

I love the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, but at €26, they've aren't exactly budget friendly. Last year so many people raved about the Maybelline version so I thought it was high time I bought myself a Maybelline Color Drama pencil and chose the colour In With Coral, which I thought would be perfect for summer. At €6.99, it is definitely a lot more affordable than the Nars version, but I wondered if it could possibly compare!

My favourite discoveries SO FAR this year

We're half way through the year, so I thought it was a good time to look back at the new products that have come into my life so far this year & choose my favourites. I did a similar post at the end of 2014, which you can read here. I will do another at the end of the year for discoveries from the second half of the year. I have mainly make-up items here, but also some body & nail items too. So let's get started!

Skincare haul #2 featuring Caudalie, Image and Kiehl's

I have another small skincare haul to share with you today. I haven't tried any of these products before but have used up quite a few skincare products recently and thought I would branch out to try something new. I wanted to try a new cleanser for my morning skincare routine because in summer, I prefer to use something lighter than a balm. I tried the GLAMGLOW ThirstyCleanse, but that really didn't agree with my skin so I am quite hesitant about trying something new. However after a little research I settled on Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser. This cleanser is aimed at dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, which is exactly how my skin is. I'm looking forward to trying it and will let you know my thoughts in a few weeks.

One for dry skin: Darphin Ideal Resource Smoothing Retexturizing Radiance Cream

I have dry/sensitive/dehydrated skin and am always on the lookout for good skincare products to help combats these problems. It's not that often that I repurchase a moisturiser because I'm always on the look out for the next best thing, but just recently I repurchased Darphin Ideal Resource Smoothing Retexturizing Radiance Cream because it has really impressed me. I have been using the Ideal Resource night cream since last summer and it is a firm favourite so I guessed I would like the day cream too & decide to take a chance on it a few months ago.
