Cult Favourites 2017: Discovery of the year

Today is the fourth and final instalment of my Cult Favourites of 2017, which coincides with Cult Beauty's Product of 2017 campaign, where you can win a £100 Cult Beauty voucher daily! More information on that at the end of the post. The focus of today's post is products that I discovered and fell in love with this year! I have seven products and then I will choose one to be my ultimate favourite!

Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask: I have to start with this mask because I'm obsessed with it! I love masks, I love overnight treatments and I love anything that helps my skin to glow and this product ticks all of those boxes! It is formulated with glycolic and lactic acids, as well as hyaluronic acid and watermelon extract. I apply it at night, when it has nothing else to compete with and let it get to work. I wake the next morning to smooth, plump, glowing skin. Full review here. £40 for 80ml.

Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer: This primer is perfect for anyone with texture issues or visible pores because it glides over them to provide a smooth, even, velvet base for foundation. I find that pretty much all of my foundations work well with this primer, but particularly the glowy/dewy ones. This primer would work for all skin types and is really good value at £15 for 30ml.

Pixi Rose Oil Blend: This oil is light in texture but packs a punch in terms of nourishment. It contains a blend of jojoba, sweet almond, pomegranate seed, rosehip and rose geranium oils, which moisturise the skin without leaving it feeling greasy. Instead it feels calm, soothed, nourished and plump. £26 for 30ml.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rose: I was a fan of the original Liquid Gold but I love this new Rose version more because it has the pore-refining, skin-renewing, exfoliating benefits of the original but with added moisturising properties, making it more suited to my dry skin. Due to the inclusion of Red Algae, it is also anti-inflammatory so it would be more suited to sensitive skin than the original Liquid Gold. I apply this at night, using a cotton wool pad and I sometimes follow with an oil but other times I leave it to work alone, depending on how dry my skin feels. It has really improved my small patches of hyperpigmentation and has helped to fade old scars/blemishes. £37 for 100ml.

Alpha-H Essential Hydration Cream: My friend Dorota gave me an Alpha-H gift set last Christmas and this was one of the products in it. I had never tried an Alpha-H moisturiser before this but I really fell hard for this one and have repurchased it twice since. It's a no-fuss moisturiser full of essential oils, essential fatty acids and bio-active sea minerals, all of which combine to hydrate the skin without any greasy residue. It leaves my skin feeling calm, nourished, soothed and plump - everything I want in a moisturiser. £35 for 50ml.

Cover Fx Illuminating Setting Spray: We all know by now that I love a glowy base but for the times when I use either a satin or demi-matte base, I add some luminosity by using this spray. The nozzle delivers a very fine mist so it doesn't disturb my base products but it also works really well as a setting spray by extending the wear time of my foundation. £22 for 120ml.

Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops: I have become obsessed with liquid highlighters this year because I find that they work well on my dry skin. I first tried these drops when I got a little sample with a Space NK order. Prior to that, I thought they would be too metallic for my taste but the brilliant thing about these drops is that they can be built up from a subtle glow to a full-on 'seen from outer space' highlight, depending on your taste. They can be mixed with foundation, used under foundation or as a traditional highlight, over foundation, which is my personal preference. They don't disturb my base and are very long-wearing so they are an all round brilliant product! £34 for 15ml.

If I had to choose just one of these products to be my Cult Favourite discovery of the year, then it would have to be Glow Recipe Sleeping Watermelon Mask because I love waking up to skin that looks better than when I went to sleep! I would love to hear what your Cult Product of 2017 is?
