|I bought these products myself.|
I've left the house once since February 22nd and that was for medical reasons so doing a bit of online shopping has kept me both happy and sane! I know that there are differing opinions on whether we should still be shopping and each to their own. If sites are still open and shipping, then I am happy to support them as it's keeping people in their jobs and it's up to the employer/courier company to ensure the safety of their staff. There have been some amazing sales and discounts available so that combined with the fact that I've been very ill for the past two months made me feel that treating myself was justified - not that I need to justify myself to anyone! If you are interested in seeing what I bought, read on and if you think people shouldn't be shopping in the middle of a pandemic, then come back another day. If you think that I'm not taking the virus seriously, you couldn't be more wrong and I'd urge you to read posts here and here.
Late last year, I showed you my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow in a post here and it was obvious that I needed to replace it so when there was 20% off the Christmas edition in one of Charlotte's recent sales, I bought it because it was cheaper than the original and also contains a mini brush to match. The fact that it's covered in crystals makes me love it even more! It's still available if you want to get your hands on it. I also bought her Rock N' Roll Eye Cheat pencil because I have wanted it since it was first released and I look as tired as I feel these days so I'm hoping that this will help me to look more awake! There are still some really great bargains on her site if you're interested.
I've been intrigued by the By Terry CC Powders for a while so I bought Sunny Flash as it was half price in the sale. I then saw the new palette in the summer collection and ordered that but it hasn't arrived yet. I'll post about it with some other products I bought from the summer collection when it arrives. Also from By Terry, I bought the new Hyaluronic Hydra Foundation, which sounds right up my dry-skinned street!
The only other makeup bits that I ordered (that have arrived at the time of writing this as I'm still waiting on a few parcels) are Nars Glow Booster, as generally love their base products, and Patrick Ta Precision Lip Pencil in the shade She's Humble.
If you read my post on Scott Barnes brushes here, you will know that I am obsessed with them so I just had to add the highlighter brush to my collection. Use the code LYMIN at checkout to save 20% on most products on Look Fantastic! I also purchased two nail polishes from Look Fantastic but the shades seem to be sold out - I know they look identical but in the flesh, one is pure white and one is creamy white.
Given that I won't be getting to the hair salon any time soon (and my hairdresser actually phoned me this week to say that they won't be re-opening - sad face), I bought Color Wow Root Cover Up as it is hugely raved about. I haven't used it yet but I will soon and will report back. I love this brand in general. I don't have the strength or energy in my arms to tweeze my brows so I bought a brilliant gadget called Hollywood Brow Perfector, which is so easy to use. One end has a spoolie, so you brush all of the hairs up with that, then hold the brow area tight and run the other end over the unwanted hairs - it removes them without leaving any irritation and can be used between the brows and at the top too. A really handy little tool. I also ordered a brow tinting kit but it hasn't arrived yet.
I show all of my empties on my Instastories and although I have other tans, I wanted to top up on St Tropez Purity Water Gel as I find it's the only tan that I can apply during the day without it affecting my clothes and it came with a free body polisher! Again, use the code LYMIN to save 20% on this on Look Fantastic.
For my hair, I bought Living Proof No Frizz Instant Defrizzer and I can confirm that it works and should also last for months! Again, use my LYMIN code if you want to save 20%. I also bought Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo in Dark Tones because I've been so ill that hair washing is just too much effort sometimes and this is the best dry shampoo that I have found - it doesn't leave build up and actually makes my hair feel clean and smell clean! There is also a Light Tones one.
I noticed that Omorovicza had a 2 for 1 offer on their Oxygen Booster - it's still available and if you use the code PERFECT, you can save a further 5% until the end of May. I reviewed it here.
Finally, I placed a Cult Beauty Order because they have SO MANY new brands on their site at the moment and I had a discount code so I just couldn't resist! The first thing I bought is a mini Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask - it contains shea butter so I won't be using it on my face but I plan on using it as an under eye mask. Versed is a new, really affordable brand on the site but so many products were out of stock so I decided on two face masks - Look Alive Hydrating Plumping Mask and Photos Please Brightening Tightening Mask. I'm really looking forward to using both! As my favourite Coco & Eve mask was out of stock, I decided to buy Bleach London Reincarnation Mask, which I am hoping works well as it's so affordable. Finally, I bought a few skincare bits - Drunk Elephant Lala Whipped Retro Cream is one of my favourite moisturisers so I bought it as a back up. Jordan Samuel Skin is a brand I've wanted to try for a while so I thought I'd start with a cleanser and bought After Show Treatment Cleanser for sensitive skin, which I have used already and LOVE! Finally, I bought a mini Kopari Coconut Rose Toner, which smells beautiful and can be used as a toner, makeup refresher or setting spray.
I'm pretty much all spent out now and don't really have my eye on anything else, It's a long time since I bought so many products but what can I say - sales, being stuck in bed ill and wanting a treat all result in this and I have no regrets!
Have you bought anything recently? I'd love to hear!
