Prepping my body for summer...

Prepping my body for summer

Because Spring has been pretty cold (and rainy/snowy), I'm really hoping that we get a good summer, so I'm prepping my limbs for being exposed, instead of panicking at the last minute! I'm not a person who thinks you need to be a size zero to have the perfect body, I'm more of the opinion that we should love and appreciate our bodies - especially due to being so ill, but also I believe that a person't beauty shines through when they're happy and that's more important than the "perfect body" - what even is that anyway? So today, I'm sharing with you products that I'm using to get my skin as soft and smooth as possible, for when I can eventually wear sleeveless tops and show my legs! If this is not your thing, you do you!

Mio Clay Away Detoxifying Body Cleanser*: This can be used as both a body wash and a body mask - ideal if you get some blemishes on your chest or back (make sure to thoroughly wash your back after you rinse conditioner, as that can clog pores). This body wash feels so refreshing on the skin and the eucalyptus scent is so uplifting! It contains a trio of clays, which give the skin a thorough cleanse.

Drunk Elephant Sugared Koffie Almond Milk Scrub: A little goes a long way with this scrub, which I love! It's quite gritty, but leaves the skin feeling super smooth and soft, but not stripped, due to the almond milk it contains. If you don't like the smell of coffee, don't dismiss this immediately as I find that the almond scent is more dominant. You massage a handful (as much or as little as you want) into damp skin, I massage in circles but you can do it however you want, paying extra attention to stubborn, dry areas, like knees, ankles and elbows and then rinse well. I love how soft this leaves my skin and whatever body moisturiser I apply afterwards absorbs beautifully.

Mio Sleeping Smoothie Overnight Body Serum*: This serum contains AHAs, which exfoliate the skin as you sleep. The AHAs are gentle (Mandelic Acid and Raspberry Extract), and they are balanced with nourishing ingredients, such as shea butter, so you don't need to apply a body moisturiser over this serum. It also smells amazing - orange blossom and citrus notes combine to create an uplifting scent, yet it isn't overly stimulating for a night-time product. This really is a brilliant 2 in 1 product!

Mio Get Waisted Sculpting Serum*: This serum leaves the skin feeling supple and elasticized, as well as hydrated. Don't get me wrong - you won't lose lbs/kgs using this, however, when massaged in, it helps to eliminate water retention from that area (which I really suffer from). It contains caffeine, niacinamide, citrus essential oils, amongst other smoothing and tightening ingredients. If I could use this from chin to toe, I would!

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion*: Regular readers will know that I love this body lotion and go through bottles of it! It contains Lactic Acid, which gently buffs away any bumpy skin. I particularly use this on the tops of my arms and my knees. It doesn't strip the skin, because it also contains nourishing ingredients. I know that some people don't like the scent of Lactic Acid, but there is also an unscented version and some limited edition scents, such as this orange blossom one.

Mio Golden Hour Illuminating Body Moisturiser*: If I'm not using the Ameliorate lotion, I'll opt for this, to give my skin a subtle glow. I especially love it on my arms, shins and across my collar bones, for a glow, without the commitment of fake tan. It feels so nourishing on the skin and smells of orange blossom, which is both subtle and fresh!

Margaret Dabbs Professional Foot File: This really is a miracle worker - it's so effective at shaving off hard skin, leaving heels and the soles of feet super soft and smooth. It also comes with replacement pads, so the initial investment is worth it.

Margaret Dabbs Intensive Treatment Foot Oil: This is the product that you use when you're serious about super soft feet, as it works faster than any cream! The only thing is that it doesn't absorb immediately, so I'd recommend using at night and then wearing a pair of socks, to ensure you don't slip, for starters, but also to encapsulate the oil for a thoroughly nourishing experience. I have some gorgeous sandals, so I want to make sure that my feet look and feel good!

Margaret Dabbs Nourishing Nail & Cuticle Serum: This is a brilliant serum for when you are performing at home pedicures. You apply it to the nails, massage in and then gentle push the cuticles back. It contains tea tree oil, which helps to ward off infections, and the emu oil makes it so nourishing, that the skin around the nails is really soft, plus it doesn't hurt when pushing the cuticles back, or trimming them. This can be used on both hands and feet.

Do you do any body/skin prep for summer? The main thing is not to forget SPF & remember to reapply it!
