My Autumn skincare switch up....

My Autumn skincare switch up

I change my skincare seasonally to adjust to whatever my skin needs. I don't necessarily change everything at once but I do find myself gradually introducing new items as the weather gets cooler and the heating is turned on. As I write this, the weather is unseasonably warm but I have made some changes over the past 5/6 weeks and will continue to do so as I'm also testing other products. So, let's get into it...

The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser:  My skin is quite sensitive and I find that with the change in seasons it's prone to being more reactive, so this cream cleanser is ideal for everyday use. I will still use an oil cleanser on days that I wear mascara/makeup, but for morning and second cleansing, this is a great product to use. I massage it into dry skin and then use a warm flannel to remove and I find that my skin is left feeling comfortable, soft and plump. It doesn't leave any residue on the skin and is a great all rounder for all skin types. It's also very affordable and this is a product that my BEAUTYLYMIN code will work for on Look Fantastic, to make it a total bargain!

L'Occitane Immortelle Proactive Skincare Essential Water*: In Autumn/Winter, I will always use an essence to add some hydration, without my skin pilling, but I also find that it prepares my skin for the application of serums/moisturiser.

Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate: I was buying a moisturiser that I love from this brand and saw a great value set, which included this product. I'll admit that I put off using it for a while due to the 'powerful strength' in its name, plus my skin can be quite sensitive to some Vitamin C products. I decided to start using it around the beginning of September and have been wowed, quite frankly. It contains 12.5% Vitamin C in the form of 10.5% Ascorbic Acid and 2% ascorbyl glucoside, as well as Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin, among other ingredients. When I first used it, my skin began to feel warm and I thought I'd have to rinse it away but that soon dissipated and whilst it felt warm, it wasn't hot or burning.  This product has made a huge difference to my skin and is one of the best discoveries of the year! It has made my skin look so much brighter and radiant, it has helped even my skin tone whilst also helping my skin to feel nourished. I've seen that there is an accompanying eye cream, which I will definitely be trying because for some reason, I have had very bad dark circles for months now and I think that might just do the trick. I would highly recommend this to everyone and I'm delighted to have stumbled across it by accident.

Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum*:  This is probably my favourite hydrating serum that I've ever used! My skin's thirst is instantly quenched when I apply this and it just makes my skin look so plump and more youthful. It contains both Hyaluronic Acid and Polyglutamic Acid, which really work so hard at attracting and retaining hydration levels in the skin. A little goes a long way and I'll never have a bad skin day when using this serum.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum*:  This is a more recent addition to my skincare lineup but I can already see a difference in my skin in terms of texture and the appearance of pores. I love that it's both powerful and gentle, as some retinol products can aggravate my sensitive skin but this one doesn't at all. I will give a full review when I've used it for more than 4 weeks but so far, so very good!

Allies of Skin Molecular Recovery Barrier Cream Balm: I like to use a thicker or richer moisturiser as the colder months progress, to protect my skin barrier and keep my skin nourished. I find that this is too rich for daytime use but I also find that it pills at night. It's a balm that turns into a cream but somehow it never feels fully absorbed. It was expensive, so I'm not willing to give up on it just yet and will play around with products and how much I use to see if I can make it work.

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm Eye Cream*: I've loved this eye cream for almost two decades! I love the texture, which appears quite rich but melts into the skin. I love how it really does firm the eye area, making lines less visible and the eye area in general, looks smooth and nourished with this eye cream. A total winner!

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari BabyFacial: This mask really does give me baby soft skin. I love it! It has a blend of AHAs and BHAs and it really does help to keep the skin very smooth, getting rid of annoying under the skin bumps that can appear, but it also refines pores. It's definitely one of the closest things to a facial that I can get at home, and in less than 15 minutes! Use the code BEAUTYLYMIN at checkout to receive a 21% discount on this and many other brands/products on Look Fantastic.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Rehydrating Mask*: I love a good overnight product and I also love the Ultra Facial range, so this is perfect! I know that when I apply this at night, I will wake to very plump and nourished skin. It's ideal for times when skin is inflamed, has reacted to a product, if you've overdone the acids or retinol, or just needs a moisture injection. It contains 10.5% Squalane, which really nourishes the skin and I love when I apply it at night, knowing that I will wake to plump, comfortable and calm skin.

Have you changed up your skincare for Autumn yet? I'd love to hear!
