'Tis the season for lip balms.....

'Tis the season for lip balms, Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Balm, Ameliorate Intensive Lip Treatment, Laneige Lip Glowy Balm,

I'm a bit of a lip balm addict - always have been! It goes back to the days before I was allowed to wear makeup (our school banned it completely),  and all of my friends had lip balms from The Body Shop on us at all times! If they were slightly tinted, all the better, as it felt we were cheating the 'no makeup' rule! Now that the temperature has definitely dropped, I'm using them more than ever and have them all over the house, in handbags, pockets etc. This isn't even my entire collection, but I wanted to share some with you as some are more intensive than others, and I'm guessing that at least some of you, will be buying balms over the coming months!

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Balm*: This was kindly sent to me, but I have used countless tubes of this balm before it was ever sent to me. There are other flavours available, but I keep going back to the lemon as I love it so much. It intensely nourishes the lips but also seems to gently exfoliate them too. The first time that I bought this, my lips were so dry and cracked that I couldn't even smile. I tried every lip balm that I had in my stash and none worked, until this one, which is why I've been repurchasing ever since! I also love that it's shaped to fit my lips for easy application.

Ameliorate Intensive Lip Treatment*: If you are suffering from extremely dry and chapped lips, this treatment really is intensive and will give instant comfort, but also long-lasting nourishment to the lips. After just one use, lips feel more comfortable, less tight and replenished, due to the combination of ceramides, amino acids and the brand's unique LaH6 Hydration Complex. I would definitely describe this as more of a treatment than a regular balm and it's worth investing in if you regular suffer from badly chapped lips. If you use the code SIOBHAN20 at the checkout, you can save 20% on all Ameliorate products until November 22nd

Laneige Lip Glowy Balm: I love the glow that this gives to my lips and the fact that the texture is lighter than the overnight mask. Again, it's very nourishing and I love that there are different flavours - I have grapefruit, which is refreshing. This balm is also non-sticky - another bonus, and like the others, is perfectly shaped to fit the lips for easy application.

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Collagen Lip Cushion: This is a brilliant product for smoothing lips, but also plumping them, while at the same time, nourishing them.  It's perfect for under mattte lip products, which might otherwise show lines on the lips. Pricey, but worth it if you feel like your lips are looking thinner with age.

Lanolips Lip Water*: This is different from all of the other products in this post, as it's applied with a brush. It has a verrrrrrry slight tingle, due to the inclusion of peppermint oil, but nothing uncomfortable, and a slightly iridescent finish, but it's not a discoball look! I know that back in the day when I was too young to wear makeup, this would have been one of my go-to products, especially as it's available in 3 shades, but I also love it now, due to the light texture.

By Terry Baume De Rose: This is the tube, rather than tub version of this cult product. I haven't tried the tub, but like the hygiene aspect of the tube anyway. I love anything formulated with roses, or rose scented, so this is right up my street. It contains nourishing oils, which combine to moisturise the lips. It's expensive and a total Princess product, but I do love it!

Pat McGrath Passion Flower Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Balm: Another expensive lip balm - unnecessarily expensive, but this is my favourite makeup brand and I bought it in the sale, so I'm happy with my purchase. It gives the lips a very flattering coral colour, is nourishing and the packaging is the prettiest on the market, so it's win/win for me. Just very expensive, but would make a fabulous gift for any makeup/lip balm lover.

Dr Lipp Tinted Lip Balm: Last, but by no means least, is this gorgeous tinted lip balm, which gives my lips an almost bitten look - perfect for frosty days when lips and cheeks tend to be a little flushed. The formula itself is extremely nourishing, leaving lips soft, protected and tinted.

Are you a lip balm fan? What's your go-to? I'd love to hear!
