Empties & speedy reviews #26 featuring Tatcha, Pixi, GLAMGLOW, Nivea, Nude, Aurelia, This Works & more!

It's been almost two months since my last empties post so I have gathered quite a few products to share my thoughts on for today's post. I have a mixture of haircare, bodycare and mainly skincare products - I have been on a mission to finish products that were half full and not being shown enough love and also to finish up some heavy products before replacing my cracked sink! (It is cracked due to heavy skincare products falling into it!). I also need to be a little stricter on myself because I have built up a pretty sizeable skincare collection again so I think I need to adopt my one in, one out policy again - time will tell if I can stick to that one! Let's get started.

Skincare:

GLAMGLOW Thirstymud: This must be my fourth or fifth tub of this mask. I love everything about it – the caramel scent, the texture – it isn’t sticky so I don’t need to worry about peeling my face off my pillow or my hair sticking to my face and the hydration it gives – when I apply this, I tend to leave it on overnight and I wake up to plump, soft, moisturised skin. I have already repurchased.

Nude Replenish Daily Moisturiser: This is one of the very best moisturisers I have used for my dry skin. It is very nourishing and moisturising, yet doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. My skin feels soft all day when I use this whereas with some moisturisers, it will feel soft initially but then become tight or uncomfortable after a few hours. I have tried a few products from Nude and have found that they really work well for my skin. My main problem with this moisturiser and the only reason that I won’t repurchase is due to the weight of the pot – it slipped out of my hand into the sink and cracked the sink. This happened twice so I couldn’t justify a repurchase because I had to buy a new sink! If they could package the product into a jar or tube that wasn’t so heavy, I would repurchase in a heartbeat.

Elemental Herbology Cell Food: I really liked this serum and felt that my skin glowed when I used it. It has a light texture, but isn’t very watery and it absorbed easily and I could actually feel and see a difference when I used this serum. The only thing that I don’t like is the packaging – it has a pipette dispenser, which I don’t mind (hate it in foundations though!) but due to the shape of the bottle, it was difficult to get product out when it ran low. I ended up having to try to shake some product out so the pipette was useless at that stage! I have other serums on the go at the moment so won’t repurchase right now, however I may in the future. This is now called Cell Nourish.

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil: I really liked this oil and felt that it definitely helped with my patches of dehydration, however although I have dry skin, I no longer feel that it is dehydrated since I started to use Omorovicza Omoressence, which I reviewed here. I love using oils as part of my nightly (and sometimes daily) routine and have five in my collection at the moment, so I don't need to repurchase at the moment, but if I were going to purchase a Clarins oil again, I would choose Santal Face Treatment Oil, as it is for dry skin.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist: I absolutely love this product. For me, it is like an instagram filter - it softens everything and makes my skin look more luminous, glowy and youthful. It is perfect for use during the day if your makeup goes a little cakey or is settling into dry patches - it will revive it. I also used it a lot when I was on bedrest through illness and it kept my skin hydrated. It is one of my favourite products of all time and I never want to be without it! I have already repurchased

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist: Another absolutely brilliant hydrating mist. Unlike the Tatcha Mist, I use this one as part of my skincare routine (after my acid tone and before serum). This is one of the best hydrating sprays I have tried. It is so much better than water sprays or refreshing sprays because I can feel the hydrating effect on my skin. I would recommend it to anybody who has dry skin or suffers with patches of dehydration. I have already repurchased.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche 24 Hour Moisturising Mask: This is a relatively inexpensive but really effective mask. I always follow a clay mask with a moisturising mask and this one always leaves my skin feeling very soft and looking radiant. I also like to use this as an eye mask on days when I am so tired that my eyes sting! It has a really cooling & comforting effect. I have a lot of face masks on the go at the moment, but will repurchase at some point.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water: I don't tend to spend too much on micellar waters because I only ever use them to remove make-up and then follow with my cleansers. I wasn't crazy about this one, I felt that it was quite drying on the skin, which I didn't like. I prefer the Garnier Micellar Water so won't be repurchasing this.

Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Revitalise Night Moisturiser: This is a sample that was sent to me and obviously I can't tell long term effects from a sachet sample but I know that I really liked how soft my skin felt when I applied this and that it was still soft the next morning and felt nourished. I have put it on my wishlist!

Haircare:

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment: I've mentioned this product on the blog a few times over the last few months because I really love it - I love the scent (similar to Thierry Mugler Angel) and I love how soft and sleek it leaves my hair. It is better than some more expensive hair masks that I have tried and is often on offer in Boots, which makes it even more affordable. I have already repurchased.

Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo: I used to love this dry shampoo, especially the fruity scent but since discovering COLAB, I haven't looked back. I find that Batiste sometimes leaves a white residue in my hair, which I hate! Because of my love for the next product, I won't repurchase.

COLAB London Dry Shampoo: I love this dry shampoo - the scent is very fresh but it also really works at mopping up/masking the greasiness in my hair. This was a Godsend for me when I was really ill last month - I would spray it in liberally and it didn't leave any residue and left my hair feeling pretty good despite running a high temperature and not being able to wash it for around 10 days (gross, I know!). I would highly recommend it to anybody who is chronically fatigued or on bedrest. I currently have the New York version in use but when I finish that, I will repurchase this because I prefer the fresh scent.

Bodycare:

Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion: It wouldn't be an empties post without a Nivea body lotion! Regular readers will know that I absolutely love Nivea body lotions because they are inexpensive, absorb quickly and deliver moisture - what more could I ask for? I have already repurchased.

Clarins Super Restorative Hand Cream: My mother gave me this because she knows that I love the original Clarins Hand Cream. This is twice the price of the original hand cream but I didn't find it to be as moisturising as the original one. It is aimed at mature skin to diminish the appearance of age spots and generally make the skin look more youthful so maybe when I am older, I will appreciate it more but for now, I would not repurchase because I prefer the original version.

Basin White Almond Coconut Bath Salts: There was a Basin store in the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa where we stayed in Orlando, so I had to buy some bath salts. I loved the scent of these because I love anything almond or coconut scented - the combination of both was right up my street! I also bought some Lilac and Satsuma bath salts and some soaps so I will enjoy working my way through those.

Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Repair & Brighten Hand Cream: This is another sample, which Aurelia sent to me and just like the other Aurelia products I've tried, I absolutely love it. The scent is very uplifting - it contains Vetiver, Ylang Ylang, Lavender and Patchouli and it felt very nourishing and moisturising. It is quite expensive at €34.95, but I think it would make a lovely gift. Lookfantastic sell Aurelia products and their discount codes work on the range, so if you are tempted by the products, I would highly recommend checking them out as it takes the sting out of the price a little.

Miscellaneous:

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Treatment: This is, without doubt, my favourite lip balm ever! It softens my lips like no other balm I have ever used. I adore the lemon scent and I find that it also exfoliates my lips, which keeps them smooth. I have already repurchased.

This Works Sleep Plus + Pillow Spray: This is another product that regular readers will know is a favourite of mine. As the name would suggest, this product actually works! Because of all of the medications that I am on, I find that my sleep pattern can be difficult at times - sometime I find it hard to go to sleep, other times I find it hard to stay asleep but this pillow spray has definitely regulated my sleep pattern and helps me to get a good 8 hours of unbroken sleep - sometimes more. It is a lifesaver for me and I would highly recommend it to anybody who has sleep problems. I have already repurchased this.

If you have made it this far, well done! I would love to know if you have used any of these products and what your thoughts on them are? Also, please tell me what you have finished recently? I think that if a beauty junkie finishes a product, then it must be pretty good! Please tell me in the comments below!
