Six of the best hydrating face mists

Six of the best hydrating face mists

I've used a face mist as part of my skincare routine for around 15 years at this stage and can't imagine not doing so! I know pretty quickly if a face mist is doing anything for my skin. I don't like water sprays as they just do nothing nor do I like anything that makes my skin feel sticky. I have used so many brands over the years and am quite fussy. I want a mist that will make my skin feel comfortable, add hydration and with a fine spray, if possible, as then I can also use it to refresh my makeup up throughout the day or just add some extra hydration. Here are six of the best!

Caudalie Beauty Elixir: One that I have repurchased several times and a much hyped product. This product contains 100% natural ingredients, including grape extracts, mint balm, orange blossom, rosemary and more. It has a beautiful, refreshing and uplifting scent and it works well to refine the appearance of pores when used as part of a skincare routine or to add some radiance and take away a powdery look if sprayed over makeup. Keep it in the fridge for some extra refreshment on hot summer days!

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist: I mentioned this in Tuesday's post (here). As you'd expect, this smells of watermelon (lush!) and it feels hydrating and soothing on the skin. The mist action is very fine, which I love because I can use it throughout the day without disturbing my base. It is packed with hydrating ingredients but doesn't leave any residue on the skin and adds some glow.

Omorovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist: One of my most repurchased face mists! This has the finest mist of any that I have ever tried and as with all Omorovicza products, it feels very soothing on the skin.  It has a light rose and neroli scent, which I personally love and find uplifting. I find that this mist also adds a little dewiness to the skin as well as hydrating it. It is alcohol-free and works beautifully as part of a skincare regime, on flights to hydrate the skin, to set makeup or to refresh the skin during the day. It honestly couldn't be improved upon.

L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist: This product really deserves more hype! It has a subtle peony scent (beautiful!) and a super fine mist - there aren't any visible droplets left on the skin. Again, it's a multi-use product that can be used after acid toning, to set makeup or to refresh skin/makeup throughout the day. It's hydrating due to the inclusion of geranium floral water and feels moisturising as it contains castor oil but it doesn't feel at all greasy or that there is product sitting on the skin. I'll be taking this on my next flight in a few weeks as it's compact (50ml) and hydrating.

Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist: This gorgeous mist combines rose water, organic coconut water and hibiscus flower extract, all of which combine to create a really hydrating treat for the skin but it also gently exfoliates due to the malic acid and citric acids in the hibiscus flower. The mist action isn't the finest so it's best used as part of a skincare routine to hydrate the skin after acid toning. It's very gentle, soothing and hydrating and leaves skin feeling plump and comfortable.

Pixi Rose Glow Mist: As I've said before, I adore anything rose-scented but don't let that put you off if you are not a rose fan as it's actually quite subtle. The mist action isn't the finest so I prefer to use this as part of my skincare routine rather than over makeup, although it works well as a primer too. It's a bi-phase product, containing argan oil, rose oil and avocado oil, so it's important that you shake the bottle before using. Those with dry skin will especially appreciate this product!

I highly recommend all six of these products and they start at only £12 so there s something for all budgets. I'd love to hear what your favourite face mist is and also if you use them regularly?
