GIVEAWAY & Brand Focus: Glow Recipe

GIVEAWAY & Brand Focus: Glow Recipe

You will have heard me mention Glow Recipe a few times previously on the blog. Their Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask was the first product that I tried from the brand (post here) and one that I went on to repurchase. If you are not familiar with the brand, it is vegan, cruelty-free and Korean.  Created by two friends using clean, natural ingredients with the aim of give glowing skin. All of the products are fruit based and I am fortunate enough to have tried them all. I used to have to order from Sephora but Cult Beauty now stock the brand and they kindly sent me the entire range to try. I already had the Sleeping Mask in my stash so I thought I'd do a giveaway so that one of you can get to try it for yourself! Keep reading to the end to find out how to win!

Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser: I love to eat blueberries but I don't think I've tried them in my skincare before and I must admit that I expected not to like this cleanser because I generally don't like anything foaming (even if it's SLS-free - it's just a mental block with me).  In any case,  I decided that I had to proceed with an open mind and I am glad that I did. It contains anti-oxidants in the form of blueberry extract alongside hyaluronic acid and gentle AHAs. It isn't at all stripping on the skin, which surprised me as my skin is very dry so I just expected that it would make it feel tight. I use one pump in wet hands and then massage in circular motions on my wet face before thoroughly rinsing.  My skin looks bright and feels comfortable after use. It wouldn't replace a cleansing balm for me as they are my favourite type of cleanser, however, for me, this works best as either a morning cleanse or a second cleanse, rather than to remove makeup. Suitable for all skin types and available in two sizes: 30ml and 160ml.

Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist: You know I love a good face mist but, as I always say, it has to actually do something for my skin to have a place in my routine. This mist is made from 84% Watermelon, which hydrates as well as protecting against free radicals, Hyaluronic Acid, which hydrates and plumps the skin, Hibiscus AHA, which gently exfoliates and smooths the skin, and Rice Germ Oil, which nourishes the skin. The mist action is very fine, so whether you use it as part of your skincare routine, to set makeup or just to refresh throughout the day, skin won't be left visibly saturated but it will be hydrated. It feels soothing on the skin and smells amazing. I can see this being a much repurchased product.

Pineapple-C Bright Serum: Now this serum is the product that I was excited to try but also cautious because I love the brightening effect that Vitamin C has on my skin, but it can also be an irritant so I started slowly with this serum. It contains 22% Pineapple Juice, pure Ascorbic Acid and stable 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid. Bromelain Enzymes gently exfoliate the skin but because it also contains aloe and chamomile, risk of irritation is reduced. The directions say that it can be used both morning and night but because my skin is reactive/sensitive, I prefer to use it once daily and I started at every second day but can now use it daily. I have noticed that it really helps to reduce scarring quite quickly. I had a small breakout a few weeks ago and using this serum really helped the blemish to fade within a few days. My skin is generally looking brighter and is glowing, even on days when I have felt truly awful due to having pneumonia! I am looking forward to seeing the long term results and will update on those when I finish the bottle but 4/5 weeks in, I am loving it.

Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturiser: Gel moisturisers tend not to be rich enough for my dry skin but, again, I approached with an open mind.  Like the mist, it is packed with Watermelon and Hyaluronic Acid, which hydrate the skin and it also contains Jasmine and Peony Extract, which are antioxidants that help to protect and brighten the skin. This moisturiser feels a little tacky on my skin initially but it does eventually sink in. It just isn't hydrating enough for my skin as a moisturiser but it works well as a serum for me. I think for those with normal or combination skin, this would work well as a moisturiser but for those with Sahara-like skin like mine, it just isn't rich enough. Available in both 20 and 60ml bottles.

Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask:  This mask brightens, smooths and refines the skin overnight. It has a gel texture but don't let that put you off as I don't find that my face sticks to the pillow! It contains AHAs to gently exfoliate the skin, Hyaluronic Acid, which hydrates the skin, Pumpkin Extract, which is rich in antioxidants and protects the skin against free radicals and, of course, Watermelon, which hydrates and soothes the skin. I love the effect this mask has because I know my skin will look better the morning after using it and for a quick fix, it can be applied for 20 minutes before rinsing. Those with dull skin will love this mask and it will work for all skin types, even sensitive as it's soothing as well as exfoliating. Available in 30 and 80ml tubs.

All products available from Cult Beauty.
