Fresh Beauty - Cult Beauty's Brand of The Month

Fresh Beauty - Cult Beauty's Brand of The Month
This set was kindly gifted to me, without obligation.

As you know, Cult Beauty feature a different brand each month, to be their Brand Of The Month, which for June is Fresh Beauty and this means free international shipping on all orders, plus there are exclusives and free gifts. I was kindly sent the Best of Fresh X Cult Kit to try some of their best sellers, which is also available for general sale and is a great way to get to know the brand as the sizes (although mini), are large enough for you to decide whether to buy the full size. There are five products, plus a headband, which is brilliant for keeping your hair off your face while doing your skincare routine, but particularly when using a mask, and they are all housed in a clear case, which is convenient for travelling. I had used two of the products previously, but three were new to me and I want to share my thoughts on all five with you today.

Soy Face Cleanser: This is one of the products that I had tried previously and loved, It's a very gentle cleanser, which can be used both morning and night, but my personal preference is for a morning cleanse as I find it so refreshing. It has a gel texture, which is massaged into wet skin, before rinsing. It contains a combination of oils and amino acids, cucumber extract, rosewater and borage seed oil, which makes it extremely gentle and balanced on the skin. It would be suitable for even the most sensitive skins and it doesn't leave that stripped or tight feeling that some gel cleansers do. It almost seems quite basic and plain, but sometimes, that's exactly what your skin needs.

Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash: If you have sensitive skin, you still need to exfoliate, but if acids scare you, then this is a great option. It says that it can be used daily, and it is gentle, but if your skin is uber-sensitive, I would err on the side of caution and start with twice weekly. Given the name, it will come as no surprise that this face wash contains strawberry extracts, as well as blackcurrant extracts (I love the fruity scent), as well as grapeseed oil and soap berry peel extract. The exfoliating action comes in the form of white sugar crystals, which might sound harsh, but they actually melt as they are massaged into the skin. The result is soft and smooth skin, which looks bright and not at all red or irritated.

Rose Face Mask: Anything with rose in it and I'm in! I have been meaning to try this mask for quite some time and am now delighted that I have because I know that I'll buy the full size. It has a gel (almost jam-like) texture, which instantly soothes and hydrates the skin - it is the perfect product to use when your skin is feeling parched, as it will instantly quench its thirst. As the name suggests, it contains rose petals and rose water - both renowned for their soothing properties. It also contains cucumber extract and aloe vera gel - two ingredients I particularly love in skincare products in summer, when the temperatures rise and skin can't help but become a little more dehydrated (if you have spent the day in the sun, this is the perfect product to apply in the evening, even when you have protected your skin well).  Algae and green tea inject some moisture and also protect against free radicals. It's the perfect summer mask! You apply to cleansed, damp skin and leave for around 10 minutes, before rinsing thoroughly and being left with plump, hydrated, comfortable skin, If we get another heatwave, or if you are travelling abroad, this is an essential product!

Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream: This is the second product that I had previously tried (and, again, loved) and this mini tub reminded me how much I loved it, so I went ahead and re-ordered. Again, it contains rose extract, or more specifically, damask rose extract, which boosts moisture retention. It also contains hyaluronic acid, which holds 1000 times its weight in moisture, so this face cream really packs a punch in terms of hydration, yet it doesn't feel at all greasy. The texture is a gel formula, which absorbs into the skin so easily, but the hydrating effects can be felt all day (it claims 72 hours, but I would never go that long without re-applying moisturiser). If you have dehydrated skin, or even dry skin, I would highly recommend this product to you.

Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask: Finally, I had never tried anything from the Black Tea line before, but I love an overnight product and I also love anything that promises to firm the skin, so it had me at hello! The black tea complex is comprised of kombucha, black tea extract, blackberry leaf extract and lychee seed extract - full of anti-oxidants, but also hyaluronic acid and peptides. The texture is rich, yet absorbs easily and isn't at all sticky, so you don't need to worry about it sticking to the pillow! The morning after use, my skin definitely feels more elasticized and plump. I'm assuming that it's with consistent use that the firming properties would be noticeable. Again, this is a product that I can see myself repurchasing.

If you have yet to try Fresh products, this is the perfect place to start. It's also ideal for holidays or weekends away (or a hospital stay, in my case!), as it has all of the basics that you need. The headband and case are products that I'll use for years. I think it's very good value. There are some other sets available too - containing just masks and also a cleanse & hydrate set, all reasonably priced and they'll give you a chance to test out some of the best-selling products. This particular one is exclusive to Cult Beauty and it really is the perfect introduction to the brand.

Available from Cult Beauty for £49. Have you tried any of these products, or are there any other products from the brand that you would recommend? I'd love to hear!
