What I use in my “everything” shower….

What I use in my “everything” shower

Who doesn't love a good pamper? I have to admit that I love an 'everything bath' but when my hair needs some T.L.C., an everything shower is the only way to go and I come out feeling like a new woman! I had proper flu last week and at the end of it there was nothing more glorious than my everything shower! Every part of me needed some pampering, extra care and let's face it, a good scrub! So, what did I use?

Hair: My hair was really crying out for some care as I did little more than brush my hair and use my Kérastase Nutritive 8 H Magic Night Serum for Dry Hair every night, simply because it requires minimal effort but really does help my hair! I decided to bring out the big guns and opted for Olaplex No.3 to begin with because my hair really needed a treatment to help repair it and make it soft, yet strong, again. (Use the code BEAUTYLYMIN to save 21% on these products on Look Fantastic or a little extra on already reduced products)

After leaving that treatment in for as long as I can, I then use Olaplex No 4C Bond Maintenance Shampoo to remove any build up of products and oils etc. I find that using this even once or twice a month makes a big difference to my hair, leaving it feeling thoroughly cleansed, without being stripped, It just feels so good to get rid of product buildup, especially if you use dry shampoo regularly. Just like our skin needs a double cleanse in the evening, our hair also needs a double cleanse - one to get rid of oils etc and then one to actually wash the hair, and for this I like to use Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Bond Repair Shampoo, which really helps to strengthen and smooth my hair. This whole range is brilliant for weak, damaged, colour-treated and heat damaged hair. It also helps to protect my colour. I follow with a mask when I'm doing my 'everything shower', and I love to use L'Oreal Professional Metal Detox Mask because not only does it leave my hair feeling super soft but it also removes any mineral and copper deposit, which can be in your water. I live in a hard water area and have a water softener but there is still lime in the water so this mask removes that buildup and also refreshes my colour.

While the mask is in my hair, I move on to scrubbing my body and I love to use Emma Hardie Moringa Luxury Body Scrub, which uses Himalayan pink salts to exfoliate the skin, but also contains oils to nourish it. The result is super soft skin that isn't stripped and is without any dry patches because I love to pay extra attention to my feet/ankles/knees/elbows etc. To wash my body, I love to use L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil, which again nourishes the skin, which is important to me as I have dry skin but I also love that it doesn't leave any residue - just soft and supple skin!

I never do any skincare in the shower - I just can't because it doesn't feel comfortable to me so that's all left until after the shower and I love to finish the routine with a full on pamper, taking the time to massage my skin and use all of my favourite products and tools.

There's probably no better feeling than an 'everything shower', followed by a nice body cream, fresh pyjamas and fresh bedding (or a layer of tan to bring some life to the skin, depending on preference!).

I'd love to hear your favourites for when you really need a head to toe pamper!
