Pretty packaging featuring Hourglass, tarte, Charlotte Tilbury & YSL

Who can resist the lure of pretty packaging?! Even better when the products inside live up to the exterior. Today I am sharing what I believe to be the prettiest items in my collection. I haven't included perfumes because we would be here all day if I did, so that's a post for another day!

When I first purchased what is now my favourite ever lipstick, my heart skipped a beat! I'm talking about YSL Rouge Volupte #1 Nude Beige. It is stunning both inside & out. I love gold products more than silver because of the warmth of the colour. I also love how the colour of the lipstick is around the centre of the case, with the YSL logo over it - swoon! Also from YSL, I love the packaging of my Holy Grail mascara and the one I come back to time and time again no matter how many others I try - Faux Cils. It is quite a weighty tube and I think the gold packaging is so sleek. I must have used about 25 tube of this mascara at this stage! I just love how it gives drama, volume and intensity to my lashes without flaking or making them crunchy! Another YSL love is a more recent purchase and it is from their Rouge Pur Couture range - I have Beige Tribute. I love the combination of black & gold on the case - beautiful. YSL can do no wrong in terms of packaging, in my eyes!

Another brand whose packaging is right up my street, is Hourglass. Everything feels and looks so luxurious, albeit a pain to photograph! I have included the blush and bronzer here. You actually feel that you are getting your money's worth both in terms of packaging and the product inside. They are expensive but I smile every time I use these products!

A recent purchase is Tarte Bling It On blush palette, which looks like a slim evening bag and is covered in black glitter. It is absolutely stunning packaging and would make a perfect Christmas gift for any blush love this year.

Finally, a post about pretty packaging wouldn't be complete without the mention of a Charlotte Tilbury product (or in this case, two!). I had wanted the Filmstar Bronze & Glow for such a long time before I actually took the plunge and bought it and it certainly didn't disappoint. The rose gold Art Deco packaging screams luxury to me and I keep this on my dressing table at all times because it looks so beautiful. The lipsticks also have the rose gold packaging, although they are much more lightweight than they look - still beautiful though!

Do you get a little thrill from pretty packaging? I can't be the only one! Have you ever really wanted a product that looked so pretty, only to buy it and be disappointed by what was inside? I'd love to know - please tell me in the comments below!
