Are you a Valentine's Day lover or hater? I think I fall in between the two categories - it's not the most important day to me but my husband & I always acknowledge it with a card and sometimes a gift or a meal out. Actually, who am I kidding? On Valentine's Day, restaurants are packed so we would always choose a takeaway at home over eating out! Given a choice, I would always choose something beauty related over flowers as a gift so today I want to share my top picks with you and if you like any of the products, you can share this post with your other half as a not so subtle hint! I also have a discount code for one of the products if you are interested in buying it and a mention of an upcoming giveaway, so let's get started!
Who can resist a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick?! The packaging alone makes them worth buying but at £24, they can seem a bit indulgent, which is why they make the perfect gift! Pillow Talk and Valentine are both limited edition but if they don't look like your kind of colour, check out my post here with swatches of nine Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks.
If liquid lipsticks are more your thing, then maybe one of the new Burberry Liquid Lip Velvets would be the perfect treat! There are 14 shades available and these are the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I have ever worn, so I would highly recommend checking them out. I have the shade Primrose but I definitely plan on buying some more.
As an eyeshadow palette addict, I had to include two of my current favourites: Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette and Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. Any eyeshadow lover would appreciate either (or both) of these palettes! The Urban Decay palette is all matte whereas the Too Faced palette has a combination of mattes and shimmers. Both have the possibilities to create countless day and night looks and would be a welcome addition to any makeup collection.
For blush lovers, it would be hard to beat the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette, which is limited edition and is being released on Valentine's Day in the U.K. and Ireland. I bought mine late last year and am utterly obsessed with it. See my review & swatches here.
I love a good pamper so I always love to receive bath and body products as gifts. For a luxurious, moisturising, decadent experience I recommend using some Dr Botanicals products. The Moroccan Rose range is currently on sale, with at least £40 off all products. I was kindly sent the Moroccan Rose & Shea Butter Body Cream, which usually retails at £89, but this month is reduced to £24.99, however if you use the code BEAUTYLYBLOG at the checkout, you will receive a further 20% discount, bringing it down to a much more affordable £19.99. This code is valid until the end of February. This body butter is cruelty free, 100% natural and vegan. It contains Moroccan Rose Oil, Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil & Ximenia Seed Oil, all of which deliver a powerful dose of moisture with a beautiful, relaxing scent and without any greasiness. My skin feels so soft and supple when I use this and it is a real treat. The range also includes a bath oil, body oil, facial oil and facial moisturiser, all of which are currently on sale and can be reduced further by using the code.
Korres have released a new range of bath & body products in a Lavender Blossom scent, which I absolutely love as it is both calming and invigorating at the same time - calming due to the lavender but invigorating due to the blossom scent - the perfect Spring scent! From February 9th until March 15th, Korres Shower Gels will be buy one, get one free exclusively in Marks & Spencer. I think they would make a fab budget friendly Valentine's Day gift. There are body milks to accompany all of the scents too and I find layering the products makes the scents last longer.
I can never say no to perfume and think it makes the perfect gift whatever the occasion! Some of my favourites are Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, which is a sweet, floral sexy scent, Chloé, which is a light, fruity-floral scent and Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, which is very different from the other two as it is almost quite masculine and sharp in scent - perfect for those who don't like traditional girly fragrances.
If perfume is your thing, come back on Saturday where I will be featuring another luxurious fragrance and giving you the chance to win a bottle for yourself!
