Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink Review & Swatches

Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink Review & Swatches
These products were kindly gifted to me, without obligation.

Since around May/June of this year, so many brands have released lip products. Last year, there wasn't much point, because we all wore masks, pretty much all the time, apart from when at home, but now that the world is opening up, people have more opportunities to show off their full face of makeup, which includes a lip product. Personally, I'm still wearing a mask every time I leave the house (I even double masked when we went to the cinema to see Bond!), however, I like knowing that I have a nice lip product on underneath, preferably one that won't budge, so I was delighted to be sent some of the new Lancôme  L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink to try.

To be sure that a product will still be on your lips when you remove your mask (if going for a meal, or to a friend or family member's house, for example), matte products tend to be the most long-lasting, but I know that a lot of people associate matte lip products with dry lips, or a crumbly finish after some wear. Matte lip products have come a long way in the past 5/6 years, particularly liquid lipsticks. If you still aren't convinced, Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink are a great alternative, as they are demi-matte. They are extremely comfortable on the lips (they contain hyaluronic acid, and have a water in oil texture), are intensely pigmented, feel lightweight on the lips, and don't transfer, so when you remove your mask, you don't need to worry about it having spread around your face, or onto your mask.

The applicator is petal shaped, which makes precise application easy, and because they are so pigmented, I find that one coat is ample. The applicator shape is perfect, because the formula is so pigmented, and therefore, easy application is ideal, as it would be difficult to remove if you made a mistake, as you would disturb your base makeup.

Swatches are completely unedited, and products were kindly gifted, without obligation. From top to bottom: 553, 525, 196.

There are 18 shades available, ranging from nudes to the perfect reds for the festive season. I was kindly gifted three, as shown above. 535 is a coral, 525 is a pinky red and 196 is true red - perfect for Christmas, or everyday wear if you suit a red lip.

They are priced at 33 euros in CH Tralee, Brown Thomas and Arnotts, and £27.50 on Look Fantastic.

Do you find that you are wearing lip products more frequently these days?
