IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare review....

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation review

Sorry for the radio silence on here recently - my health took a turn for the worse, and whilst we're still unsure of the cause, I was on doctor's orders to have complete rest, so that's what I did! I'm still not feeling great, but blogging gives me a routine and a distraction and I had lots of content partly prepped, so I thought that I may as well get back to it. I hope the weather has been as glorious with you as it has been (and still is) here? I had to be very careful not to let any sun on my skin for the first part of the heatwave, due to the medication I was on, but once I could, I enjoyed getting some heat in my bones and am still loving it (well protected, of course!). Anyway, on to today's post, which is another foundation review - I seem to have had a few recently and I have another one coming shortly - I seem to go through phases of buying foundations (but usually wait until I'm almost finished at least one, which I am - my favourite Armani Luminous Silk!). I wanted to buy the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare because the more I try from the brand, the more I like. Also the description caught my attention - waterlight, medium but buildable coverage, with a radiant finish - ticks all of my boxes......or does it?

If you are familiar with the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, you will know that the coverage is pretty full, while still feeling lightweight on the skin. This foundation is literally weightless on the skin, with medium coverage that can be sheered out if you want minimal coverage, or built up, to add a bit more in areas of redness, however it won't offer full coverage. This suits me fine, particularly in summer, but I also think that as skin ages, it's better to go in with a lighter base and then add concealer where needed. Skin first, makeup second, which is why I have no problem spending more of my money on effective skincare

There are 40 shades of this foundation available, in cool, neutral and warm tones. I picked my shade after checking swatches online and got it spot on. I'm so used to buying foundation online now that I rarely get my shade wrong, but if you're new to it, try Findation and I also think that Cult Beauty have a shade matcher online.

Whilst the description is waterlight, and the texture is very light, it isn't so watery that it will slide off your face before you've had a chance to buff it in. I take 1/2 pumps and dot it around my face, before buffing in. It looks skin-like, yet more perfect than my actual skin. Pores are blurred and whilst the coverage is medium, it looks very natural, with a radiant finish. I don't feel like I am wearing any base product at all when I wear this, not only that, but it feels hydrating.

As the name suggests, this is not just a foundation, as it's also packed with skincare ingredients - hyaluronic acid, aloe vera extract, glycerin and Vitamins E and B5, among others. Although these are soothing and hydrating ingredients, it doesn't feel at all greasy on the skin, so I wouldn't let it put you off if you don't have dry skin, although I do think that those with normal/dry/combination skin would enjoy this foundation most.

For me, this is the perfect Spring/Summer foundation, or if a no makeup-makeup look is what you favour, you will love tis all year round. I appreciate the skincare benefits, the radiant finish and the healthy look that it gives my skin - it looks like I have nice skin, rather than nice makeup. I'd give it 10/10, as the wear time is good too. I rarely wear my makeup for longer than 8 hours, or thereabouts, and I find that because the finish of this is so natural, it doesn't need any touching up. I do wear some concealer under my eyes, or if I have a blemish, but once I set everything, there is no need for any touch ups. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about this product and would recommend trying to get a sample to find your correct shade, if healthy, radiant skin is your thing. I have to mention that it isn't dewy or glowy - just radiant 'your skin, but better'.

Have you tried this foundation? Does it sound like one you'd enjoy? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
