I haven't done a 3 treats for 3 budgets post since October, because in November, I did gift guides and I never do these posts in December, as I think people are either shopping the (early) sales, or just buying gifts, but it's January and that long-awaited payday is looming so, welcome to my first post in this series of 2021! As I always say, you don't need to spend a lot to treat yourself!
Under £20: The Inkey List PCA Bond Hair Repair Treatment: I've told you before about my post-Covid hair loss and I'm sure that most people know somebody who has been affected at this stage, so I thought I'd include this, because at £12.99 for 100ml, I think it's worth a shot as there is so much science behind this brand. The aim is to re-build and strengthen the hair as well as repair damaged strands, prevent split ends and improve glossiness. I think we'll all have damaged strands and split ends by the time the salons open again, so this product is worth a try for everyone! It is sprayed onto towel-dried hair, before blow-drying and hair is left feeling smooth and strong. I'm looking forward to seeing the long-term results.
£20-50: Kosas 10 Second Liquid Eyeshadow: I wrote a post n this brand around 18 months ago (here), when it first arrived on this side of the Atlantic. I completely fell in love with the cheek duo and have been meaning to add some more products to my collection ever since. When I saw Karima McKimmie speak about this shadow in her 2020 beauty favourites video, I ordered it immediately. I don't wear makeup very often these days and when I do, it's minimal and has to be quick to apply. This eyeshadow is beautiful for when you want to look like you've made an effort, without actually making an effort. They dry quickly, so you have to work fast, but really, there's very little work to do - apply and blend quickly and you're good to go!
£50+: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Volume II: I adore Hourglass powder products because they are so finely milled, which makes them easy to apply, without any powdery finish on the skin. I skipped the previous trio, but bought this one because it it contains a setting powder that gives that 'lit from within look' (Radiant Light), a powder that could be used as a highlighter or setting powder (Soft Light) and one that I'd use as a bronzer (Golden Bronze Light). It gives the skin an overall airbrushed, soft look and who doesn't want that?
Will you be treating yourself this month? Have any of these products caught your eye? I'd love to hear!
