In my palettes gift guide (here), you will have seen that I included the new offering from Charlotte Tilbury - the Starry Eyes to Hypnotise Palette. I have purchased the previous two palettes of this size from Charlotte Tilbury but I personally think that this is the best of the three!
Housed in a stunning midnight blue glittery palette with a silver starburst pattern, this limited edition packaging is very striking and luxurious. It's slim and compact with a decent sized mirror inside the lid. Inside are 12 shadows, divided into four trios, each with a prime, enhance and smoke shade. I personally really like this layout and I think it will be helpful to those who aren't overly confident in creating makeup looks. There are shadows for both day and night looks and it's different from the many neutral palettes on the market!
As you can see from the swatches, the shadows are pigmented. What you also need to know is that the formula is finely milled and the texture is very smooth and soft, which makes them so easy to work with. There is some fallout when using the shadows but this is easily remedied by either doing eye makeup first or using some loose powder under the eyes, which can be swept away with any fallout after application.
Happy Glow contains a warm golden trio with one matte shade in a caramel brown shade. This will work both day and night,
Love Glow contains a rosy trio, which again will work both day and night for a soft, romantic look. Don't be scared by the pink - it doesn't make you look like you've had zero sleep!
Dream Glow is my favourite of the three! I wore green eyeshadow on my wedding day so I have a real soft spot for greens! These olive green shades with a hint of gold are warm, soft and beautiful. A wash of colour using one of the shades is perfect for an everyday look but using all three is a beautiful alternative to a smokey eye.
Seduce Glow Eyes is a definite smokey eye trio with a midnight blue, instead of a black and a shimmering silver.
It's a versatile palette and I love that it's more than just another neutral palette. I personally find that the formula of these shadows is better quality than those in Charlotte Tilbury quads - they're more creamy, which makes them easier to blend and build. This would make a beautiful (albeit expensive) gift for a loved one, or even better, treat to yourself this Christmas!
Are you tempted by this palette? I'd love to hear!
Available from Charlotte Tilbury, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Brown Thomas, Arnotts, John Lewis (20% off until midnight tonight) and Selfridges.
